The Time Keeper: Learning to Tell Time

Keeping Time with The Divine Miss M

The Divine Miss M is learning to tell time with Wall Clocks. It’s an exciting adventure and very structured. It started a few months ago with the digital clock placed in her room. She is a creature driven by time…reporting the exact time she awoke to the time she started reading.

Now we have progressed to the Kitchen Wall Clocks and my life is starting to sound a tad like Alice In Wonderland. The Divine Miss M is rigid with her schedule. If we leave the house a minute past yesterday’s time she panics. She updates me on how long a television show is or just how many minutes her brother has been in Time-Out.

Like Alice In Wonderland, The Divine Miss M is stressed about, Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!” or Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it’s getting!

Telling time is a beautiful thing…I just wish we could stop time because my “Time Keeper” will be grown up before I have had enough time to enjoy the moments that time cannot measure.
