I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
When you Discover Boating, something magical happens.
It started with a dad who shared his love of boating with his son. Those summers on the lake lead to a dream of circumnavigation.
That dream is becoming a reality for, the son, Jordan, whose dad shared his passion for boating.
Jordan and Desiree met on a boat. They were crewing together on Motor Yacht Limitless, the largest American superyacht in THE WORLD!!
That “dream” job allowed love to bloom, and Jordan and Desiree became a couple, known in their social circles as Jorderay.
They left their jobs and have been following their dream to buy, refit, and sail a boat named the Atticus around the world on a shoe-string budget, and to film the entire process.
They call their dream, Project Atticus.
We can’t all have the same dream. In the event a superyacht is not how you met your spouse and you still have a dream to discover boating, try the Spousal Conversion Guide.
Atticus is a 51 year old allied seawind. She’s required a LOT of TLC to get her ready for the journey of a lifetime–to sail around the world. It’s a romantic story that goes beyond the couple. It’s about a boat, the adventures it seeks and discovering our planet.
Gone are the days when boating is a “rich man’s sport”. Seventy-one percent of U.S. boat owners have an annual household income less than $100,000 and 95 percent of boats in the U.S. are less than 26 feet—small boats taken by trailer to local bodies of water.
But boating isn’t just about sailing around the world. There are a lot of things that can happen when you discover boating.
