Cinco de Mayo was the day I spent with Jimmy Kimmel. From the ABC Show Runner Mix an Mingle, we headed to Hollywood Blvd., destination, Jimmy Kimmel Live!
I was invited to this event by Disney and ABC as part of a media event. Accommodations and other expenses were paid for in exchange for my coverage of the event, but all opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.
There were lines of people waiting to attend that night’s taping. Tickets were hot with guests Julia Roberts and Sally Field ready to sit next to Jimmy Kimmel here:
McNearney revealed that there is a cast of writers for the show, some watch television all day and pull clips. Everyone contributes something and at the end of the night, you hope you have at least one joke on the show.

She also shared that each morning Jimmy Kimmel received 45 pages of material that he goes through and whittles down to the content we see every night on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Following our interview with Molly McNearney, we spoke with Executive Producer Jill Leiderman.

Leiderman shared how Jimmy Kimmel brought her from New York to Los Angeles. That move was seven years ago. She transitioned the show to the 11:30 pm slot. She was also voted to be one of The Hollywood Reporter’s 2013 Women in Entertainment Power 100.
This is a set that is like family reported Ledierman who says Jimmy Kimmel is an incredible host not only on television but behind the scenes as well as in his home.
And then it was time for the show to begin!
We were entertained by the Pedestrian Question–What is Gluten?
and feasting on Steve’s Ice Cream (available at Whole Foods)…
Then Jimmy Kimmel shared Julia Roberts prom picture. Roberts was quick to share that there was a shadow, making her hair look larger.
Then came the most hilarious moment of the show. America’s Sweethearts were together for the first ever Celebrity Curse Off ! It was wrong just from the players. Two wholesome, American Girl Next Door actresses about to curse like sailors. Then it happened and from the Jimmy Kimmel Live! VIP Lounge, there was NO censors. It was raw. It was shocking! And it made me laugh out loud so hard!
So who will be the champion? Which of America’s Sweethearts has the “foulest mouth”?
Then it was time for the band! Future Islands Performed “Doves”
He is also very generous with his time. After the show the bloggers went to the set and as we were admiring the studio, his desk and the guests’ chairs, from the back came Jimmy Kimmel. He greeted us; took time to shake each of our hands and then shared that he would be taking an individual picture with each of us. We sat in a guest chair, Jimmy Kimmel at his desk, and he made it a point to have a conversation with each of us.
