Sensai by Kanebo Lip Care Something to Kiss About

by Kanebo

Sensai by Kanebo didn’t see this review coming. Initially, I received the product with the prospects of Valentine’s Day and getting my lips into kissing vessels. Life reared it is ugly, and I’ve been battling a mutating virus for nearly two months. This review starts with the intention and takes a turn that proves Sensai by Kanebo is a product with a lip-care line unlike any other: Total Lip Treatment, Lip Base, Lipstick, and Lip Gloss.

Since my last review, I’ve been loving the Sensai by Kanebo Total Lip Treatment. I apply it after washing my face. It promotes collagen synthesis in the O-Zone layer.  In other words, it creates collagen. This is unique and should not be confused with products that contain collagen, and the body can’t absorb it.

The first thing I noticed about Saesai by Kanebo Lip Treatment is how delectably smooth it goes on. By the time I finish applying my makeup, my lips are super soft. It minimizes lips dullness, treats dryness, and leaves those kissing vessels deliciously smooth. It goes without saying I’m addicted. I love the stuff.

So the day my Sensai by Kanebo Lip Care Kit arrived, I was feeling pretty awesome. I rushed to try the new products and Wow! Already a user and committed to the Lip Treatment, I tried the Sensai by Kanebo Lip Base. Holy Heaven! It looks like a tube of lipstick. It glides on smoothly and evens out the delicate skin of the lips giving a great foundation. It is like photoshop in a tube, minimizing creases and then moisturizing. I love that Sensai by Kanebo added an SPF15. I’m big on protecting my skin from the sun. There was a dewy glimmer to my lips, and I could have prowled around with just the lip base.

Every girl needs some color to her lips. Sensai by Kanebo sent a color I’d never thought of trying before. Sometimes the new frightens me. I have tried many different lipsticks and colors, and I typically tire of the reapplication throughout the day to keep the color perky–or the color sticks that stain and settle into the creases of my lips, making me look dehydrated and old. I figured what the heck and applied The Lipstick. Wow! There was a sensual texture I’ve never experienced before in a lipstick. There was a shine that was so subtle and yet so glamorous that I had to smile. Within ten minutes of putting on The Lipstick, my husband commented on how beautiful my lips were. It felt good. Sensai by Kanebo has re-formulated, re-engineered the cult-favorite original, and it’s a keeper. Now available in 15 luxurious shades, selected from core colors in silk kimonos of the Japanese aristocracy during the Heian period (794-1185), The Lipstick is a classic beauty.

As I read about The Lipstick, I discovered Sensai by Kanebo uses a blend of fine ingredients to produce a formula they call “Golden Silk Powder. A signature ingredient is achieved by reducing pure gold to very fine particles and injecting it into Koishimaru Silk powder granules. This silk, once reserved for only the Imperial Family’s exclusive use, can hold 300 times its body weight in water–that’s some serious moisture!

Here’s where my true love affair comes into play. Life got ugly, and somehow I caught the virus that has left me with a cold, the flu, and continues to mutate. I refused to use the Sensai by Kanebo because I didn’t want to contaminate them. Then, one night as my head pounded, my nose was stuffed, and I was forced to breathe through my mouth; I could feel my lips cracking and shriveling as I sucked air in through my mouth. With each breath, they shriveled more. I tried a lip balm, but it felt waxy and heavy on my lips, and I couldn’t cope. Then I decided to use a lip brush and applied the Sensai by Kanebo Lip Treatment and Lip Base. It was an indulgence. I eventually fell asleep, and when I awoke, my lips were amazing. They were the only part of me that was no grey and sickly looking.

I continue to use the combination as I work on getting rid of this virus. My husband ponders why my lips are still supple and, despite my throbbing headache, smiles. My seven-year-old is sick this week, and her lips became horribly chafed. I followed my regimen, and her lips are recovering quickly; and she hugs me and tells me, “Thank you for making my lips feel beautiful!”

Sensai by Kanebo Lip Gloss is amazing as well. It gives lips a glass-like finish. It adds moisture and sheen to lips. My only complaint is I wish it came in flavors, and then it would be p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

Still, my love affair with Sensai by Kanebo will continue. Its temptation is the youth it gives my lips—the color that doesn’t fade and the moisture that heals.
