Two and a Half Men Season 8 On DVD

One of my favorite shows is Two and a Half Men. We own the DVDs and now the complete 8th season is coming out on DVD September 6! It’s a show I can watch over and over and continues to make me laugh out loud!

It’s hard to say who my favorite character is. They are all so quirky! Charlie and Alan remind me of my two oldest boys. Rose is so cute and serial in so many ways!

In episode 11 of Season 8, Alan wants to buy Lindsey a birthday present, but he’s out of money! To try to come up with some money, he tries random schemes including giving massages at the mall. Alan! Alan! Alan!

I think most of my jobs have been pretty mainstream, like Alan, I appreciate “steady”. I take after my mom though and have followed through on a few entrepreneurial ideas. When I was thirteen, I invested in these orange plastic plugs that twisted into an orange, giving you a juice box from a fresh orange. I sold them for a dollar at the flea market. It took off, and my parents realized this had far more potential than I assumed and bought my business from me at the end of the day. Needless to say, I felt like a Rockstar and my parents built the business up into something that sustained us for a while.

Newly married, I did party planning for a while. I loved this. It allowed me to be creative and I organized some awesome parties and events. It wasn’t steady.

Then I got the idea to decorate cakes. This business took off and within two years we had hired people to help us bake cakes while my husband and I worked full time. We’d come home and I’d decorate the cakes, while my husband made the icing and mixed colors for me.  We were booked six months out and turning away new clients because we were in such demand from our regulars. Then Hurricane Andrew struck Miami, Florida, where we lived, and we lost everything, ending Just Cakes.

My need to create continued with sewing. I did applique and then progressed into designing mascot Halloween costumes. I loved it–though I tended to doubt the outcome, which made it slightly stressful.

One doesn’t have to be Alan Harper to find themselves having worked a crazy job or following an entrepreneurial idea. Discover more details and place a pre-order here: Two and a Half Men: Season 8!
