Music is a huge part of my life. It triggers memories, reminds me of places and people and gives me cause to relax, celebrate and dance. One of the genres that I enjoy is Christian music. Through the years I’ve heard this music change from sounds of a church hall to more mainstream. I love it.
July 26, Robert Pierre’s new CD I’m All in will hit the shelves. I had never heard of Robert Pierre, so I asked my 18-year old, Zac. He hadn’t heard of him either. Turns out, we’re both living under a rock! Robert Pierre’s I’m All In, is his third studio album. Recorded by think about it records, the title is Pierre’s life motto as he answers his calling to live committed to HIM.
When I was in High School I was influenced by great books. I attended assemblies, stayed out late with my friends and thought the world was mine. Robert Pierre, as a High School senior, at 18 years of age, is doing amazing things. He not only wrote and recorded I’m All In, but he’s also performing on tour this summer and he leads regular Sunday morning worship at hi Orlando, Florida, 800-member church.
“All of the songs have something to do with things I was going through my senior year,” Robert said of I’m All In, “preparing to say goodbye to friends and not really knowing what would come next, but finding comfort and peace in the Lord’s plan for my life. The Bible talks about how the eyes of the Lord are searching to and fro throughout the earth, searching for someone whose heart is wholly His, someone He can strongly support. This CD is me saying, ‘I’m all in.’”
Teamed with veteran songwriter, Jason Ingram (Sanctus Rea, Bebo Norman, Tenth Avenue North) and legendary producer Matt Bronleewe (Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay), Pierre experienced a powerful personal experience. The result is an enthusiastically and energetically charged collection of songs that worship God while wrestling with what it means to be Christian in a world of difficulty, joy, anxiety and excitement.
When Robert Pierre’s name came into my world, I looked him up on YouTube. I clicked “play” and his voice was amazing! He’s had some hits like “On Faith Alone”, his first music video, and “Breaking my Heart”. When the album arrived, the first song took me to my love of disco. His voice, deep and smooth, captured me in the title song. Then “Who R U?” played and I was in love. The lyrics are catchy and have the listener thinking about “which side of the fence are you on?”
I may not have heard Robrt Pierre, but after hearing his voice and now singing along to I’m All In’s 11-tracks, I’m a fan. I am excited to see where life will take him as he leaves high school and enters college.
