Art is rewarding, but not many artists can make a living from their skills. Many people with an immense potential struggle to be full-time artists, while some have given up on their big dream. # Step 1: Know Your Skill

Taking on the artist’s journey is a big commitment; it’s like being in a relationship, requiring your passion and true dedication.

First things first, you’ve to discover your skill. It may be a hobby like you love to write, paint, or make the best from waste.

If you’re unaware of this, you won’t progress as an artist.

Make sure your decision is not influenced by the people around you, the stuff you see, and the social media frenzy.

For instance, you can’t be a good glass artist just by getting fascinated by the works of Bob Leatherbarrow.

You’ll have to try new things all by yourself, like fusing tekta glass or any other glass and create your art piece.

Even if you fail or succeed, what matters is whether you enjoy it.

Because then you’ll be motivated from within to practice day in and day out till perfection is not accomplished.

#2 Step: Artist Education Requirements

Although there isn’t any formal education to be an artist, a bachelor’s degree can help your career kickstart in the initial stages; after that, you can progress with your skills.

A student can choose between Bachelor of Science (BS) in Arts degree programs, Bachelor of Arts (BA), and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

You can enroll in any online courses to have hands-on experience and the proper technical knowledge.

For instance, if you want to be a professional glass artist, then by joining an online learning program, you’ll learn every inch about this field — right from selecting the right glass type, the art of fusing glass, to fantastic artwork.
