10 Reasons Why You Should Listen to Your Gut and Travel

We’ve all seen the pictures: friends traveling to exotic places, entire families going from one the to the next in no time, making traveling look so easy. Whether they fly to amazing destinations or use an RV rental such as apollorv.com to road-trip throughout countries, our social media and lives are full of these images.

For whatever reason, you feel like you can’t do it, but every time you open your social media accounts, there they are again, the pictures telling you that it’s possible to pack up and travel full time.

Here are ten reasons why you should listen to your gut and get out on the road:

1. You can learn a lot about the world we live in and different cultures.

Traveling to places that aren’t your home country does something incredible for you. It helps to make you more human. That may sound cliché, but as someone who has traveled and lived in many different countries, you learn more about the human race than you would, just always staying put off.

You can also learn about the traditions and lifestyles in various cultures and perhaps adopt some of them as your own. Traveling makes you a more well-rounded and accepting person, and hey, the world could always use more of that, don’t you think?

2. You can see the places that you have always wanted to see.

Perhaps you have always wanted to go to New Zealand or Australia places. What if Rotorua has been on your bucket list, but you just haven’t had the time to see the beauties of its hot springs. When you commit to packing up and traveling full-time, well, the world is your oyster.

3. You can have the freedom to spend your time as you like.

Whether you are self-employed or taking a sabbatical, or simply have saved up for a time like this, you can have the freedom to do as you please, without being stuck to a job or schedule. You may find yourself lounging on the beach on Monday while working on a Saturday or vice-versa, but no one will tell you what to do or when to do it.

4. You won’t regret it.

Things may happen on your road trip. No, not just may, they WILL happen. Good things, bad things, fascinating things, and sad things, but you can always be sure that no matter what happens, you will never regret the experience. Whether you choose to road trip in an RV rental or fly to your destinations, your full-time traveling will be full of stories, life, friendships, and experience. You can never regret that.

5. You won’t be bored.

Sure, there may be moments on the train or plane where you feel a little bit bored or tired, but when it comes to traveling full time, there isn’t much time to get bored. Traveling to a new destination is a feast for the senses. Whether it’s because you’re trying to get around where you don’t speak the language, or you are visiting fascinating places in the country you’re in, you can be sure that your mind will have plenty to keep it busy. You hardly ever hear a traveler saying that they’re bored.

6. You’ll make new-and international friends.

Traveling often brings new people into our lives and many times these friends end up being ones for life. Whether you stay awhile in one place and cultivate friendships with the locals or you simply have a connection with someone you meet on the road, there is no doubt that you will end up with more friends when traveling.

7. You’ll get to try all kinds of new food.

Whether you travel through many countries or only through a couple, you will be able to try a variety of new cuisine that you may have never had before—at least not the real authentic dishes you’ll find in their native countries. If you’re a foodie, this will be a dream come true.

8. You’ll learn a lot of stuff about yourself.

It sounds cliché, but it is true for many. When you travel, you are bound to live experiences and meet people who will teach you a lot of truths about yourself. Some things you will love to learn while others may be a challenge to come to grips with, but you will be more than likely be a bigger fan of yourself after traveling.

9. You’ll become a more cultured individual—hopefully!

If you’re open and have a desire to get to know cultures, you will learn a lot and have amazing conversations with people while learning new perspectives on life. You can rest assured that you will be invited to many more dinner parties back home, where your friends will want to show off their “cultured friend who just came back from Timbuktu.”

10. You’ll be able to say, “I’ve been there!”

Instead of being jealous of friends who have been places, you can now say that you’ve been there. You are now the one in the pictures with a cool RV rental in New Zealand or the one taking pics at exotic beaches.
