Protect Yourself From Attackers With These 5 Self-Defense Tactics

Whether you are traveling late at night on a college campus or you’re worried about being robbed, self-defense technologies can give you peace of mind, says BrightsideMany of the tools used for self-defense are readily employed by police services in the United States. If you want to protect yourself from attackers, look at these self-defense techs.

Protect Yourself From Attackers With These 5 Self-Defense Tactics

1. Stun Guns

Stun guns have long been employed for self-defense in the United States, and they’re a great way to defend yourself without having to inflict considerable damage.

You probably won’t need to get a permit in order to use a stun gun, and you’re not going to leave your attack with any serious wounds.

If you are concerned about hurting someone physically, this is the optimal way to defend yourself.

The self-defense product experts at tbotech mention that stun guns are pocket-sized and easily transported; they also aren’t incredibly expensive.

They are far safer for you to use than carrying a firearm.

With their reasonable cost, you’ll be able to store a few in areas where you may need them, such as multiple cars, in the garage, or even in your bags.

2. Batons

Nothing scares an attacker like having an expandable baton shoot out in front of them.

Because they’re expandable, you’re able to store these batons with relative ease, and you don’t need to worry about storage.

There is a reason that so many of the police force utilize these tools, because of how dangerous they can be.

If you’re stuck in close quarters with an attacker, a baton can give you the edge you need in order to defend yourself, or it may simply scare them away.

You’re also not using lethal force in order to defend yourself, and again, you won’t need to worry about family safety.

3. Pepper Spray

According to Wired, Pepper spray offers ease of use that makes it an attractive technology in order to defend yourself.

You can easily spray attackers in the face, and they’ll be rendered virtually blind and unable to continue their assault on your person.

One of the downsides of using this as a self-defense method is that it may not be helpful if your attacker is wearing large sunglasses.

However, pepper spray is easily purchased from many locations and it’s far easier to obtain than some other self-defense tools.

It does not take very much direction to show how to use pepper spray properly.

4. Stun Gun Baton

The stun gun baton is a perfect blend of two other items on this list, and it is a great way to get the best of both worlds.

Police have also included stun gun batons in their arsenal with well-established rationale.

If your attacker is exceptionally persistent and a regular baton would not deter them, you’re able to inflict physical damage and shock them simultaneously.

This is also a great non-lethal alternative, but it packs the punch necessary to protect yourself effectively.

Many stun gun batons come with wrist straps so they’re not easily grabbed by anyone harassing you.

There are some states that don’t allow the purchase of stun gun batons, so look into your regional laws surrounding their use.

5. Tactical Pen

When you desperately need to defend yourself, you may be looking at everything around you and on you as a weapon.

You can reduce the need to get creative by carrying a tactical pen with you.

They serve the same function as an actual pen but have increased weight, making them perfect for self-defense.

An actual pen is generally made out of plastic, and it won’t have the same impact as a tactical pen.

Along with the previously mentioned technologies, tactical pens are safe for almost everyone in your family.

You don’t need to worry about using lethal force, but they can dissuade even the most aggressive of persons.

They’re so durable you’ll likely be able to use it to write long after your attacker has fled.

If you live in another country other than the United States, you may not be able to obtain some of the technologies suggested above.

When you’re purchasing self-defense tools, make sure you’re complying with the law.

Usually, the law is much more lenient regarding these tools than it is with firearms.

If you’re providing anything for your family, make sure they’re of an appropriate age and have been given instructions on using the device.

Self-defense training classes are a perfect way for someone to develop experience utilizing some of these tools.

With a little training and the proper technology, you can protect yourself from attackers effectively.
