A&W Root Beer Floats on National Root Beer Float Day + Float Recipes

We received an A&W Root Beer Float Kit in exchange for this post. All opinions and our love for root beer remains our own.

There is nothing quite like the taste of an all-American Root Beer Float.  Today is National Root Beer Float Day and we’re celebrating with A&W Root Beer.

Growing up there was something magical about watching the A&W Root Beer pour over the vanilla ice cream. The foam it created was bubbles from heaven!

After I had my own children, the taste of A&W reminded me of my childhood. Hot summer days, my Grandma and I would go and enjoy an A&W Root Beer Float. We loved how their mugs were icy cold and the foam was deliciously flavored with the ice cream and root beer.

It became a tradition to surprise my children, like my grandma surprised my aunt and me, with the treat of an A&W Root Beer Float.

And while summer is the perfect time to indulge, Root Beer Floats aren’t seasonal. I am a fan of the classic, vanilla ice cream and the creamy flavor of A&W Root Beer, but there are so many more ways to create the perfect Root Beer Float.
