ChapStick® The Gift on Everyone’s Lips this Season

I received ChapStick® holiday products in order to facilitate an honest review.

ChapStick® is kicking the season off with limited edition holiday-inspired varieties that are sure to be on everyone’s lips.  There’s more flavors and fun than ever before this season!

ChapStick® New Seasonal Flavors

Keep winter lips looking and feeling healthy and happy with the decadent seasonal flavor, Gingerbread Kiss. This Limited edition holiday flavor softens and protects smooth, silky lips daily. Treat your lips with 100% indulgence. 0% guilt and enjoy the taste on everyone’s lips!

Also, the fresh and minty Candy Cane variety is back this season due to popular demand. One of my favorites in the ChapStick® product line. Softens and seals in moisture with an icy cool feel—irresistible, exhilarating aroma.

Both of these should come with the warning that you should only eat one stick per serving…I tell my kiddos they come in tubes as portion control. I love the flavors!

These holiday flavors feature a convenient gift tag on the back of each package; ChapStick® takes the hassle out of gift wrapping, making it easy to drop into a stocking or attach to the top of a gift!

ChapStick® seasonal varieties are available for a limited time nationwide, beginning November 1, in the cough and cold aisle at food, drug, and mass retailers with a suggested retail price of $1.01 to $1.99 each.

History of  ChapStick®

Dating back to the early 1880s, when a physician named Dr. Charles Browne Fleet from Lynchburg, Virginia, concocted the first batch of ChapStick® as a lip balm. Many would never guess that it was not initially successful. In its early years, the handmade product looked like a wickless candle wrapped in foil.

It wasn’t until John Morton paid five dollars to buy the rights to the product in 1912 that ChapStick® gained popularity. Mr. and Mrs. Morton melted the pink ChapStick® down in their kitchen, cooled it, and sliced it into sticks. It was so lucrative the profit was used to fund the Morton Manufacturing Corporation.

That CHET ChapStick® logo, created by Frank White Jr., also of Lynchburg, VA, in the 1930s for a flat fee of $15, is still in use today.

Through the years, ChapStick® was acquired from Morton Manufacturing to The A.H. Robins Company, and the lip balm evolved from a regular stick to more and more varieties.

Growing up in the 1970s, I vividly recall the commercials featuring Suzy Chaffee (aka Suzy ChapStick®). That was back when the ChapStick® 4 flavored sticks hit the shelves.

In 2009 ChapStick® was acquired by Pfizer.
