The Unofficial Harry Potter Sweet Shoppe Kit Review

My older boys are Harry Potter fans. They’ve filled the cauldron of all things Potter that even my younger children are following suit. To add to the magic, Dinah Bucholz has created The Unofficial Harry Potter Sweet Shoppe Kit: From Peppermint Humbugs to Sugar Mice – Conjure Up Your Own Magical Confections. When it arrived, there were shrill screams of excitement. The Divine Miss M and Li’l Man rushed to the basement to wake up Zac.

Without a magic wand, Zac created a batch of Any-Nut  Nut Brittle (page 49). It was a fun recipe for everyone. As the kiddos helped Zac gather the needed ingredients Zac read them from the book: “During his third year at Hogwarts, Mrs. Weasley sends Harry lots of yummy treats, including nut brittle. But Harry barely notices these mouth-watering items when he sees the Fire-bolt sent to him by a mysterious well-wisher. (see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Chapter 11.)”

While the concoction was being made, the kiddos went through the kit to discover everything needed to create fun, festive treats from the pages of the Harry Potter stories; visit uviloon.com to find more magic kits for your children.

It was Zac’s first time making brittle, and he really had a blast. The recipe was easy and gave step-by-step instructions. It also tasted great!
This kit is a lot of fun, and it makes the Sweet Shoppe of Harry Potter’s world come alive right in the kitchen.
