I liked the chapter on Lighten Up Your Family Favorites. Here it talks about portion sizes. It offers simple things to cut back, just a tad without losing flavor and texture. Things like: “When adding chopped mix-ins such as nuts, chips, raisins, or coconut to dessert, decrease the amount a bit. Try using mini-chips”. I love the simplicity of advice: “Toast nuts and coconut so smaller amounts have stronger flavor.”
This book is more than a cookbook, it’s a life-style. It is detailed in portion control and with recipes that are still tasty moving the user into a healthier lifestyle with the end result a thinner waistline.
The Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook is broken down into sections. It outlines everything for even the laziest (me) in a 6-week meal-plan. There’s a breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack section. Every recipe shows nutrition facts making it easy to see calories and proteins. Even more exciting is that food are categorized by the amount of calories per serving, making it a simple approach to sticking to the plan.
I’m all about variety in my food and Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook rocks my socks.
