Review: XIGO

Keep Immune Systems at Peak Performance

We’re a large family and yet we are so normal. We are busy and as the mom, I’m often heard saying, “I don’t have time to be sick!” There’s no way for me to stop time and slowing down doesn’t seem to be part of our schedule. I believe it’s my responsibility as the Mom to take care of my family and be proactive in protecting them from whatever I am able when it comes to their health.

The Divine Miss M is my child who sets goals. She is determined this year to NOT miss a single day of school. It was her goal last year, but Dad made her stay home when she had the flu, and trust me, we had to hear it about it repeatedly. This year I have an Alli, Xigo (pronounced chee-go) Maximum Immune Defense. It’s an immune supplement designed to support the body’s natural defenses.

One never wants the opportunity to review a product that requires getting sick to praise or criticize. I will say, however, that two days before the Xigo arrived for review, I was run down from stress and fighting the early stages of a cold. When Xigo arrived, I read about it and decided to start right then so I opened a package and took the two chewable tablets. They are a little larger in diameter than a Tums and about half the thickness. They taste decent and don’t leave a residue in my mouth, something I appreciate.

Li’l Man is my stay-at-home champion, so I started him on the Xigo Daily Defense for Children.  It’s suited best for children 3-10 and is designed to be used as a daily preventative for year-round immune support. When we picked The Divine Miss M up from the bus stop she was complaining her head hurt and her throat was starting to feel sore. She was tired and didn’t feel like eating so I gave her one of the Xigo Daily Defense and two of the Xigo Maximum Immune Defense tablets before bed. The Divine Miss M and I took the Maximum Immune Defense the next morning and Li’l Man stayed steady with the Children’s Daily Defense.

That afternoon when we picked The Divine Miss M up from school, she felt great! I asked if she had a headache and she told me no. She said her throat felt fine. She still was run down and went to bed early, but that was her only issue.

For three days I stayed on my routine with the Xigo Maximum Defense. I kept Li’l Man and The Divine Miss M going with the Children’s Daily Defense until it was gone.

The results. The Divine Miss M bounced back within 12 hours. The Xigo boosted her immune system to help her fight off the virus and allow her to stay in school and live life as every six-year-old should.

The virus didn’t stand a chance with Li’l Man. We used it truly as a preventative. Typically my two youngest are notorious for sharing what one brings home in the way of sickness, but this time Xigo stopped it in its tracks.

As for me, I still felt run down. My headache was minimized but didn’t stop. The one thing I can say about Xigo is that I could feel my throat wanting to be sore, but within a few hours of taking the second Xigo, my throat was no longer tender. I didn’t bounce back right away like The Divine Miss M and feel my being two days into the run-down stay may have been a contributing factor.

My husband, who wouldn’t take the Xigo ended up with a full-blown cold. He was aching, stuffing nosed, sore throat, and exhausted.

The experience of my family taking (or not taking) Xigo really gave me a testimony of this product’s ability to work. I believe it truly does boost the immune system. So much that when my 84-year-old grandmother told me she wasn’t getting a flu shot this year, I gave her a box of Xigo and told her to take it anytime she started feeling run down or was around someone who was sick.

So what exactly is Xigo?

Xigo Health is a natural supplement company dedicated to supporting the health of moms and their families. Xigo’s Maximum Immune Defense is an extra-strength formula providing 800 mg of beta-glucans, L-glutamine, and lacto fer rin in a chewable tablet. The three ingredients work to help the body stop cold and flu before they start:

  • BETA-GLUCANS detect harmful viruses and  bacteria while activating the immune system
  • L-GLUTAMINE fuels immune cells to better  defend the body from attack
  • LACTO FER RIN deters future attacks by helping  the body remember repeat offenders—responding quickly to prevent viruses from rapidly multiplying

Xigo is currently involved in a 140-person, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study to establish the product’s effectiveness in the relief of symptoms from the common cold. Results are expected later this year after the start of flu season.

The products are available through the Xigo Website, where you will also find a great forum for families to share and learn tips to stay healthy, active and enjoy life.

Xigo may also be found at select natural health food stores nationwide. You can find a store near you by using their store locator.
