Himalayan Salt Shop Salt Lamp Review
Last week, Dear Hubby took me to Wendover, Nevada for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
It’s about two hours from where I live. Between my house and Wendover, Nevada is the famous Bonneville Salt Flats.
Among the Salt Flats resides Morton Salt Factory.
It’s impressive.
Don’t let the blue skies in that photo fool you.
During the Winter months in Salt Lake City, our sky resembles the Batman City of Gotham.
Our mountains form a bowl that traps our exhaust, chimney smoke, and other pollutants.
It’s known, without affection, as “The Inversion”.
It’s disgusting!
During one inversion, I found an article on Air Purifiers that involved salt.
Of course, my mind started churning.
I live within close proximity to hoards of salt.
I mean seriously, -there are MOUNDS of salt and yet our air is thick, murky and blech!
To be fair, the Salt Flats are on the other side of the mountains to the West.
I kept reading.
Salt Lamps are natural Air Purifiers and Ionizers.
That’s incredibly cool!
It’s a little too scientific for my creative mind, but fascinating none the less.
Recently, I received a Salt Lamp from The Himalayan Salt Shop.
Out of the box, it is impressive!
When I told Li’l Man it was a giant crystal of salt, he, of course, had to lick it.
His review of that experience is “it tastes like salt and is a little bit disgusting”!
While this salt lamp may not be much for your palate it is a beauty to rest your eyes on.
It glows in a soft orange and crimson with white and saffron hues.
Out of the box, it requires some assembly, though it is very minimal.
I received the 4-5 pound lamp.
It includes a lovely wooden base, electrical cord with control swtich and light bulb.
I screwed the lightbulb into the fixture and then held the clamp near the lightbulb up and pushed it into the salt crystal.
It took literally seconds to complete this task.
Then I carefully carried the salt lamp to where it would call “Home” and plugged it in.
Instant light.
Immediate beauty.
Li’l Man was mesmerized.
He sat quietly and just stared at it.
We talked about the dimples and shape.
He thought it looked like a glow worm!
We turned it off and then looked at it intesely.
Li’l Man furrowed his brows and said, “Hey, how does it get so pretty?”
The Himalayan Salt Shop offers salt lamps starting at just $19.99.
Trust me you won’t find a more original and beautiful lamp than one of these.
They offer a Natural Shape as well as crafted shapes.
The benefits and beauty make The Himalayan Salt Shops Salt Lamp a MUST HAVE!
Go visit their site and see for yourself–I’m going back to my living room to admire the glow with Li’l Man.
