Little Monster Fun and Learn #Book Review

When Jake was little we snuggled on the couch or in his bed at night and read. One of our favorite authors was Mercer Mayer and the Little Critter Series. We loved it so much that in writing to my grandmother, I shared these books with her so that she could share them with my cousin (two years younger than Jake). Mercer Mayer was an instant hit there as well.

Little Monster's Fun and Learn Book

We bought every Mercer Mayer book we could find and they were all an amazing adventure. While Little Critter was our favorite, we also started a love affair with Little Monster.  He’s a fun creature with a mix of dragon and dinosaur.

Now, many children later, and having read and reread Mercer Mayer, my children welcome Little Monster back in his new, exciting and educational storybook: The Little Monster Fun and Learn Book. Little Monster leads the reader through four different adventures, engaging in the alphabet, counting and going to bed and walking in his neighborhood.

Written in Mercer Mayer’s infamous style of prose the book is fun to read and the illustrations are packed with details to explore and whimsical enough to make me sometimes chortle.

While this book is educational Mercer Mayer continues creating Little Monster in his antics and has even included the Zipperump-a-zoo to search and find. I won’t disclose if Little Monsters pet Kerploppus is still by his side…after all, some things should be left to discover on one’s own.
