How to Make Golden Milk Latte

There are hundreds of articles dedicated to the many health benefits of turmeric if you Google search. We will talk about those benefits and why turmeric should be part of your daily intake in this Fiji Joe Turmeric review.

Turmeric continues to trend globally as one of the healthiest superfoods.

While the Eastern population has known about turmeric’s benefits and used it for more than one hundred years, both in their food and medicinally, only recently have medical experts begun researching the roots of this magic plant.

What Is Turmeric?

Native to Southeast Asia’s subcontinent India, Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a flowering plant in the same family as ginger (Zingiberaceae), where roots are the focus for use.

Is Curcumin the Same as Turmeric?

Some people call turmeric “Curcumin.

Because turmeric roots are full of bioactive compounds called curcuminoids, with their bright orange pigment and the plethora of health benefits, curcumin, a single compound within the class of curcuminoids, is what we are most interested in ingesting.

Historical Uses of Turmeric

While it is easily recognizable by its bright orange color, turmeric is used in textile dying, supplement applications, and culinary.

You may know turmeric as the intense earthy flavor in your favorite Indian dish.

It gets its flavor from its essential oil, alpha-turmerone.

Why Turmeric?

Ayurvedic medicine has used turmeric for thousands of years to treat breathing problems, joint pain, fatigue, digestive issues, and more.

Researchers have shared evidence that turmeric may boost energy levels, improve joints and boost flexibility and mobility. Turmeric is a potent antioxidant with anticancer and antimicrobial effects.

In some instances, doctors proscribe turmeric to patients for these healing benefits.

A few well-known health benefits are:

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Blood and Liver Cleanser
  • Natural Antiseptic and Antibacterial (Useful for cuts and burns)
  • Aids in Digestion
  • Anti-Alzheimer’s
  • Anticancer properties

With so many benefits, it’s easy to consider turmeric as an essential addition to our daily health regimen.

Why Choose Fiji Joe Turmeric?

High levels of heavy metals often contaminate turmeric roots.

This is coming when farmed.

When grown in polluted areas, turmeric roots can absorb and concentrate heavy metals, copper, arsenic, and lead in their roots.

As turmeric continues to trend for its health benefits, the quality of turmeric becomes problematic, with more farmers wanting to cash in.

Some market turmeric spiked with lead chromate, which boosts the bright orange color.

As scientists work with turmeric farmers to create better farming practices and prevent turmeric from concentrating heavy metals, opting for Fiji Joe Turmeric is, in our opinion, a great way to safely attain the benefits of turmeric.

Fiji Joe Turmeric goes directly from harvest to their private processing facility, where the roots are sorted by hand, then washed, sliced, and dried.

Their turmeric is clinically tested, sourced from local villages, and 100% certified organic.

How to Use Turmeric:

Use this versatile powder in dying fabric or eggs, recipes, smoothies, tea, and our personal favorite “golden milk” latte!

What Is Golden Milk?

Traditionally an Indian drink known as Haldi Doodh, with roots in Ayurveda, the oldest healing science, is a blend of ground turmeric and milk heated to a “golden milk.”

It’s known for its anti-inflammatory properties and healing.

It’s a one-pot mixture and takes about five minutes to create this delicious drink that is sure to be a daily obsession.

What Are The Benefits of Golden Milk?

Turmeric is the star of this beverage; however, the other spices (Ginger and Cinnamon) are also powerhouses in benefits!

Pairing Turmeric With Black Pepper

Adding a dash of black pepper is recommended (skip this if you have stomach issues) or pineapple, which has the enzyme bromelain.

The black pepper and bromelain help aid the body in absorbing turmeric.

Black pepper has piperine in its genetic makeup, which significantly helps to unlock the door of absorption so that the turmeric’s curcumin can fully provide its benefits.

It helps explicitly prevent glucuronidation, which is one of the main hindrances in initial curcumin absorption.

How to Make Golden Milk

Coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk is my preference when making “Golden Milk.”

I find these create a creamy base.

You can use fresh turmeric, but I find Fiji Joe’s turmeric powder to be delicious in flavor and more simple to make.

If opting for coconut milk, opt for one with some fat content to help the absorption of turmeric.

Opt for locally sourced honey, pure maple syrup, or Stevia to add a little sweetness.

A cup of “Golden Milk” at night is so comforting, subtly sweet, slightly spicy, creamy, and offers the benefits of turmeric and ginger.
