Breckenridge Ski Resort (Breckenridge.com, Colorado)

As a place known for providing top-notch lessons for the ski novice, one of the (other) things visitors seem to enjoy most about Breckenridge is its location. Not only is Colorado considered to be one of the absolute best places (in America) for snow skiing, but Summit County is one of the most popular resorts in the country.

Over twenty-five acres make up five different parks, with Freeway Terrain Park being many people’s favorite for skiing and snowboarding. The area also offers historical tours and almost 80 different bars, nightclubs, and restaurants.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (Jacksonhole.com, Wyoming)

If you’re not new to the slopes, this is the place for you. Ranked highly as one of the best places for an expert skier. There are reportedly 116 trails featured on their ski map, over half suited for experts. The terrain covers two mountains and 2500 acres.

There are over 195 acres of snowmaking coverage, and the average temperature is twenty-one degrees Fahrenheit. Snowboarding is allowed all over the mountain, and dog-sledding, ski lessons, and mountain tours are available. It is also considered to have one of the best new lifts (100 Passenger Aerial Tram) in the country.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort (Kirkwood.com, California)

Everyone can’t afford a trip to St Anton, so sometimes “amazing” is defined by what is easiest on your wallet. For many, for this reason, Kirkwood is recognized to be absolutely amazing!

There are currently three open terrains to ski on; programs specialized for women and teens along with body slope massages, daily ski shuttles, and resort dining. There is even a live webcam to check out as you do your own online “window shopping.” Season passes start at around $259 with no holiday blackouts. Definitely a good reason to consider a little West Coast skiing!
