Nutrisystem: Journey of a Hero Week 9

This week I was out and failed to plan ahead and didn’t have my Nutrisystem lunch with me, so I made the choice to stay true to the program and I bought a protein bar. I thought I’d love it, after all, chocolate and peanut butter are delicious…except for in the protein bar I bought. Oh, it was tough chewing it and getting it down. I will say though that it was filling!

It made me think about diets and food and y’know Nutrisystem really goes above and beyond. It’s a lifestyle change with some mighty find cuisine!

Let’s start with breakfast. There is a variety of choices from omelettes to scones. My favorite is the muffins, particularly the Double Chocolate Muffin. I put mine in the microwave for 10-15 seconds and then sit down and indulge. There is nothing diet tasting about this muffin. It even has ooey, gooey chocolate!

A newer addition to the Nutrsystem program is the breakfast shakes. I really, really love these, and I know they are a key to success because if I start the morning with one, I don’t have the afternoon cravings and munchings. The shakes are available in vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and coffee-flavored. The latter two are my favorite!

  • Protein shakes are available packed with 15 g of protein per serving
  • Helps you feel fuller throughout the day
  • Helps you retain more muscle while losing weight

My mid morning snack is a piece of fruit. On this particular day I was fond of bananas.

For lunch I love salad and Nutrisystem makes it easy to add protein with either chicken breast or tuna salad. I love the additions to change up my salad routine!
Dinner has so many options. I am really fond of the New Chef’s Table Entrees.

Plus there are more choices in the Nutrisystem plan. On this night, I selected Chef Carment Gonzalez’s Arroz con Pollo. Oh, mercy it was delicious!
There’s also a great variety of desserts from salty to sweet. There’s cake, popcorn, chips and candy bars. I really love the option to indulge in ice cream! That’s right. Ice Cream. Fudgesicles, orangesicles, whoopie pies and sandwiches! Mmm…
The variety means you’ll never get bored and the taste is gonna fool you–this doesn’t taste like diet food.
I’m holding steady this week with no gain and no loss.
