Eco-Friendly Freckles

How did your blog’s name come to be?

I came up with my blog name and Etsy shop name “Eco-Friendly Freckles” because my hand-painted, upcycled decoupage canisters are very “eco-friendly” and each one of them is painted with a glossy black background and topped with tiny white painted “freckles” that creates my signature look. My art and I are both eco-friendly and have freckles!

What inspired you to start blogging?

I was inspired to start blogging because I had heard that blogging is a wonderful way to market you Etsy shop and I have enjoyed writing about my art, favorite recipes, natural health research, and my pleasures in life!

What do you think sets your blog apart from others?

My Eco-Friendly Freckles blog is very personal and colorful! What I think sets my blog apart from other Etsy shop blogs is that I do not solely base my blog on my Etsy shop; I also write up personal reviews of my favorite Etsy sellers, my favorite recipes, my interests and findings in natural health, personal experiences, etc.

What has been your absolute favorite post?

My absolute favorite blog post is titled, “Apple Cider Vinegar is Saving My Cat’s Life”. This was a post that I made this last month and is very important and personal to me about my sweet feline friend, Buster. Apple Cider Vinegar has seriously saved his life and I want to tell the world about it! Buster had crystals in his urinary tract that were preventing him from urinating; besides completely dissolving the crystals, Buster now looks healthy and happy and doesn’t have dandruff (which he has had for years).

What inspires you to blog?

I love blogging; I look forward to sharing my latest news and experiences. I also enjoy meeting all of my friendly fellow bloggers and talking and learning from them.

Can you tell us a little about your writing process?

I always try to add eye-catching, complementary photos to each blog post to keep my blog attractive and appealing. I strive to post relevant and fascinating content that is up-to-date. I also like to integrate hyperlinks into my content for easy access to my sources.

Apart from blogging, what do you like to do?

I enjoy my treasured time with my husband, Joe, my best friends (grandmother, Sharee, and twin sister, Andrea) and three cats: Magnum, Buster, and Nozomi. I love organic-heirloom gardening, studying aromatherapy and herbology, yoga, cooking, camping, biking, picnicking, long walks and talks, going to art galleries, bed and breakfasts, thrift stores, yard sales, antique shops, and mom-and-pop restaurants. I also enjoy discovering all of the delicious and nutritious creations I can make with my organic probiotic kefir grains; like kefir cheese or “labne”

How do you find time to blog?

Since I am usually busy during the day with working or doing other errands, I often blog in the evenings, but occasionally I will find time during the day to relax and partake in some fun blogging.

What is your greatest accomplishment in life thus far?

Overcoming post-traumatic stress and depression from an unfortunately paralyzed mother with Multiple Sclerosis, a devastating boating accident, and other distressing experiences while finding peace within and discovering my creative, fun, and happy being. Meeting and falling deeply in love with my loving and amazing husband, Joe, has brought me happiness, stability, and captivating ambition for the future.

Where do you see yourself in 10-years?

In ten years, I see Joe and I on our charming property with our country cottage/eco-dome house that we built ourselves on the beautiful country-side with rolling hills in Oklahoma. We have two children and more on the way and a farm with goats, chickens, a jersey cow, and of course a miniature horse! We have a massive heirloom garden and my hand-painted upcycled canisters are a huge success with displays in boutiques and art galleries across the nation…I dream BIG!

Do you have children, if so how many?

No, I do not have children, but I look forward to having several someday with my loving husband Joe who I know will be a wonderful father.
