This Season, Do More Than Drop Change into a Bucket, Adopt an Angel #jcpangel

My children amaze me. They are truly some of the most giving and sharing individuals I’ve ever met. Even during the holidays they think of others. One program we participate in is the J.C. Penney Company and The Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree. Three years ago, it was revolutionized and has an online option to provide Christmas gifts to disadvantaged kids and even senior citizens across the country. This year jcp.com has added a new, customizable feature enabling groups to adopt multiple Angels at one time!

The Angel Giving Tree Online program is a national, online adoption program that allows customers to provide Christmas gifts to children, teens and seniors in need. The online feature allows participants to choose an “angel” in need to adopt, and provide Christmas gifts for them. The J. C. Penney site emails the donor the adoptees’ wish list and where to send the gifts. Last year, according to J. C. Penney’s website, nearly 70,000 angels were adopted online. Beginning November 14, an iPad app will launch making it easier for anyone to adopt multiple children.

The Angel Giving Tree Online Program

As we enter the countdown to the holidays, The Angel Giving Tree Online Program is a great way to start spreading the beauty of the season.

As an added feature, Angel Giving Tree gifts purchased through jcp.com can be shipped free of charge to a local Salvation Army Collection Center, thanks to the partnership with UPS.

It gets even better:

  • On Thanksgiving Day, jcpenney will donate $50 to The Salvation Army, up to $400,000, for every Angel adopted online — giving customers another reason to take advantage of Black Friday specials a day early on jcpenney.com.
  • On Black Friday, jcpenney will donate $25 to The Salvation Army, up to $100,000, for every customer who uses Foursquare to check-in to a jcpenney store between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • To encourage nationwide support and participation, jcpenney will award the community with the most Foursquare check-ins on Black Friday with a celebratory shopping party to be held on Dec. 17. The winning store will host a food truck on-site complete with complimentary snacks and beverages to help energize time-strapped customers shopping jcpenney on the last weekend before Christmas.

It’s the first time where adoptees have the option to adopt in groups. Learn more about the program and be part of the magic by adopting an angel yourself.

*I will receive a gift card for my participation in the JCPenney Angel Giving Tree Twitter Party. The opinions, where expressed, are my own and were in no way influenced by the sponsor. Others experiences may vary.
