Project Atticus: Meet Jordan and Desiree

Meet Jordan and Desiree

Jordan and Desiree are not just ordinary travelers; they are dreamers who chose to take the path less traveled. Their quest, known as “Project Atticus,” is more than a sailing adventure—it’s a voyage of self-discovery and exploration.

Why “The Atticus”?

The name “Atticus” holds significant meaning for Jordan and Desiree. It’s inspired by the character Atticus Finch from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. Atticus Finch famously said, “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it” (Chapter 3). For Jordan and Desiree, this quote epitomizes their journey. They aim to view the world through fresh perspectives, immersing themselves in different cultures and experiences and perhaps even changing the world one viewpoint at a time.

A Beautiful Beginning

Jordan’s love for sailing has deep roots. It began with cherished boating trips alongside his father, which sparked a lifelong passion for the sea. The decision to set sail around the world with Desiree was fueled by their mutual desire for adventure and a new way of living.

Their Wedding in Mexico

Jordan and Desiree’s journey together began with a beautiful wedding ceremony in Mexico. The sun-kissed beaches and the serene backdrop of the ocean reflected their love and commitment to one another. Their wedding was a testament to their shared dreams and the start of a new chapter in their lives.

A New Chapter: Welcome Isa

In December 2022, Jordan and Desiree welcomed their baby girl, Isabela “Isa.” Her arrival marked a significant milestone in their lives and their adventure. However, the journey has not been without its challenges. Isa was diagnosed with PHACE syndrome, a rare condition that has added a layer of complexity to their travels. Jordan and Desiree have openly shared their experiences, offering insights into their personal journey as parents and adventurers.
