Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bars Review

Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bar

Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bar

Kashi is a brand I trust and one we enjoy often at our house. While I didn’t discover Kashi until about four years ago, I am impressed by their quality and the new additions to there product line. Take the Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bars for example. They are great tasting and just 130 calories per bar. The best part, even my Grandma’s group of friends loved them!

In between all the chaos of my grandma’s doctor’s appointments, trying to balance her life and the prospect of her second child dying, we made time to have a few of her friends over for some light conversation and to sample the Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bars. These women may be in their 70s and 80s, but they know what they like. Surprisingly this includes Two and a Half Men (with Sheen NOT Kutcher), reading novels and grandchildren.
As you know from the Grandma Goes Gaga post, my grandmother is 85 and she is well, vain! She has lost quite a bit of weight over the past five years and claims to forget to eat often. She will decline pretty much everything. I told her she needed to set the example for her friends and eat a Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bar.  While it took a lot of bribery, once she took a bite, she was out of control. She savored the first bite. Commented on the chocolate being, “fudge-like” and the texture being “chewy”.

Suddenly, the others wanted in on the goodness. Even two women who declined initially because of the peanuts on top and “not having teeth to chew ’em”. As the “oh!” and “Ah!” erupted through the group, one of the toothless women gave up picking off the peanuts and just decided to go for it. I held my breath, but it was successful!
These women, most claiming to be “watching our waistline” LOVED these bars. Each Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bar contains 7 grams of fiber and 4 grams of protein. I was shocked these li’l women could eat more than one. They each had two, though I think a couple snuck in a third and they all took some home with them, alleging they plan to share with their husband’s or grandchildren.
I gave them each a square of the Kashi Cinnamon Harvest Cereal–think shredded wheat, however, while they thought it tasted good, it was more of a hit with my five year old, Li’l Man, who called “dibs” on the box! That’s just fine with me because each serving has 20% of the recommended fiber and more than 2/3 of the daily recommended whole grain intake! Kashi is also a trend-setter being made from natural, minimally processed, no highly refined sugars, artificial additives or unnatural preservatives. It’s what a mom likes her kiddos to eat…and here’s the shocker…this cereal has just FOUR ingredients! Wow!
