Jeff Probst’s Stranded 2: Trial by Fire Review

Survivor is my all-time favorite show. I love the immunity challenges. They put me on the edge of my seat and turn into nail biting sessions!  My favorite contestant, Malcolm. He’s a great player and stays positive.

My dad told my mom about the show Survivor a long time ago when some guy named Richard Hatch was on. Since then, it’s been a family tradition. Whatever night Survivor is on is the best meal of the week. My mom goes ALL out!

My mom’s favorite season was when her favorite player, Elizabeth, was on and they were in Australia. The rice got washed away and those people where hungry!

Every time we watch Survivor I have to hear about Rob Mariano. My parents call him The Cockroach because of his game play and that every time they thought he was going down, he survived the Apocalypse–plus he got Amber and that’s probably been better for him than the million dollars.

My name is “Miss M”. I’m nine and will be in fourth grade this September. I’m a Survivor fan and….

I heart Jeff Probst #survivor

I do!

Sometimes I dream about being on Survivor and Jeff Probst is there telling me I need to pick it up or I’m in the lead.

My mom said we have to wait until the fall for a new Survivor. I wanted to cry.

Thankfully, Jeff Probst does more than just host Survivor. He’s writing books for kids like me!

How did I miss this?

If you missed it too, the first book is Stranded.

A family vacation becomes a test of survival!

It was supposed to be a vacation—and a chance to get to know each other better. But when a massive storm sets in without warning, four kids are shipwrecked alone on a rocky jungle island in the middle of the South Pacific. No adults. No instructions. Nobody to rely on but themselves. Can they make it home alive?

A week ago, the biggest challenge Vanessa, Buzz, Carter, and Jane had was learning to live as a new blended family. Now the four siblings must find a way to work together if they’re going to make it off the island. But first they’ve got to learn to survive one another.

This summer is about to be amazing because on June 13, Jeff Probst’s second book Stranded 2: Trial by Fire arrived in book stores!

STRANDED 2: TRIAL BY FIRE by Jeff Probst and Chris Tebbets  (Puffin; June 13, 2013; $6.99; ages 8 up)

They thought it couldn’t get any worse. They were wrong.

Being shipwrecked on a jungle island in the middle of the South Pacific was bad enough. But now that Carter, Vanessa, Buzz and Jane have lost their boat–and almost everything on board–to another violent storm, it’s like starting over. That means finding food and shelter, making fire for the first time, dealing with the wild boars that roam the island–and of course, figuring out how to get along (and not kill each other in the process). Survival is no individual sport in a place like this, but there’s only one way to learn that. The hard way.

Suddenly, I want to read this summer. I really LOVE this book. I’ve been reading it all day!

The highlight of my summer though was getting to interview Jeff Probst about his new book.

I’m taking the Summer Survivor Challenge and you can too…
