Solise Sunscreen Review

Winter is the perfect time for Solise. Let’s not kid ourselves. There are two feet of snow outside and summer is a fading memory. The sun, however, still lurks, projecting UVA and UVB rays that can harm skin.

In the past, packing up the sunscreen was part of the regimen at my house as we embarked upon winter. Then my dad was diagnosed with skin cancer and I watched, in horror, as a speckle the size of a pencil lead was removed and became a six inch scar on his face. Shortly thereafter, The Divine Miss M was born and she picked her father’s complexion, fairer than Snow White! Sunscreen is now very much a part of our life.

Our morning ritual always includes sunscreen, but lately, thanks to Solise, it’s revolutionized the smothering of screen. Solise easily gives protection simply by showering with the Solise Body Wash or washing your hands with Solise Hand Soap. I am not kidding! UVB protection while you clean!

We received the Solise Hand Soap and the first comment from Miss M was that it smelled good. This is an important thing to her as she hates to smell like sunscreen while everyone else smells “good”. I was skeptical because I thought it would have a petroleum feel. Surprisingly it is not at all greasy. It is very light and I notice our hands aren’t suffering from the winter nip where we’re reaching for the lotion to help prevent or relieve chapped hands.

The Divine Miss M thinks she’s hit the lottery with Solise because she now just washes her face, neck, hands and arms with the hand wash in the morning before school and we “skip” the sunscreen. I know she is protected and the soap is gentle and moisturizing giving me satisfaction on all fronts. As an added bonus, Solise is recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation. It is dermatologist tested and non-comedogenic.

Solise contains soy oil, making it different from traditional soaps. It really is as easy peasy as lathering up, rinsing and towel drying for protection from sun damage. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue…just clean UVA/UVB protected skin!
