Gooseberry Patch is one of my favorite cookbook publishers, and they have recently hit a milestone I dream of hitting, 100,000 fans on its official Facebook page.
The cookbooks’ recipes remind me of what Grandma or Mom cooked in the kitchen. The recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients most of us have in our pantries.
To celebrate everyone’s love of cooking, the founders of Gooseberry Patch are offering a special free digital download of their all-time favorite 25 recipes.
“Social media has become an important part of our outreach efforts,” says Gooseberry Patch co-founder Jo-Ann Martin. “Our active and passionate community of recipe contributors and cookbook collectors fuels our company, and we’re always looking for new ways to make sharing even easier. Facebook, in particular, has allowed us to connect with our fans on such a wonderful, personal level.”
Since its launch in September 2009, Gooseberry Patch’s Facebook page has brought together fans from across the United States and worldwide.
“It’s been exciting to watch our online community grow larger every day, and the interaction among cooks of all experience levels, sharing recipes and tips, has been wonderful,” says Vickie Hutchins, Gooseberry Patch co-founder. “Facebook is a great tool to help us reach new people and share with them the Gooseberry Patch story and the joy of home cooking.”
Gooseberry Patch uses its Facebook fan page in a variety of ways to interact with fans, such as sharing recipes and cooking tips, videos, behind-the-scenes photos, special promotions, and giveaways, and most recently, its new “Fan of the Week” spotlight.
To reward its Facebook fans for this historic milestone, Gooseberry Patch compiled a special digital cookbook, “Jo Ann & Vickie’s Favorite Recipes,” which includes 25 all-time Gooseberry Patch favorites, such as Vickie’s Tomato Pie, Jo Ann’s Cowboy Cookies, Panzanella Salad and Pepperoncini Italian Beef. To download the free booklet visit Gooseberry.com’s website. Starting next week, the cookbook will be available as a free eBook download from major booksellers, such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Apple.
About Gooseberry Patch
Back in 1984, Vickie Hutchins and Jo Ann Martin were next-door neighbors raising their families in Delaware, Ohio. They were two moms with small children looking for a way to do what they loved and stay home with the kids too. They shared a love of home cooking and making memories with family & friends. After many a conversation over the backyard fence, Gooseberry Patch was born.
Today, Gooseberry Patch is best known for its home-style family-friendly cookbooks and line of art calendars. With more than 200 titles, nearly 9 million copies in print, and a new collection of eBooks, Gooseberry Patch has grown from a kitchen-table operation to a nationally recognized best-selling publisher. Affordably priced from 99 cents to $16.95, the books are themed with today’s time-strapped, budget-conscious families in mind. Many recipes include personal stories from contributors, giving the cookbooks a warm community feel that has proven extremely popular among cookbook fans and collectors.
