Meet Becky, the Writer and Creator behind theBlog,
Same Page Notion

Name and location:

Becky from Utah

Blog: Same Page Notion

How did your blog’s name come to be?

It’s kind of tongue-in-cheek – like this idea of everyone being on the “same page” but nobody really having the exact same taste in style.

What inspired you to start blogging?

I’ve always had personal blogs since I was 13, but I decided I wanted a new project to be able to actually DO something with all the fun clothes I own. Keiko Lynn was also a big inspiration and made me want to start my own personal style blog.

What do you think sets your blog apart from others?

Man, I don’t know! I guess just that I don’t take myself too seriously. I write the way that I would talk – lots of self-deprecating humor because at the end of the day I’m a random 20-year-old standing behind her house, asking her boyfriend to take pictures of her dress.

What has been your absolute favorite post?

I really liked the way the dress turned out in this post. I’d never EVER worn it before because it’s so short, but it just sort of worked that day.

What inspires you to blog?

Other fashion blogs. A lot of these women have the most amazing outfits that they put together with whatever is laying around. Everyone would love to have mad amounts of money to spend on designer clothes, but the truth is that NObody does and so you have to make do with what you’ve got. These girls are so creative with their closets and look incredible every day.

Can you tell us a little about your writing process?

I wish I could say that there is a method behind the madness, but unfortunately, it’s mostly whatever my fingers decide to type. I just aim for honesty a lot of the time. It’s so easy to slip into pretentiousness and superficiality – I’m sitting there writing about what I put on my body for crying out loud! I just try to be honest about who I am. I have a lot of vintage clothing from my mom and grandmother so if a piece has a really good story, I’ll talk about that. I also like to brag about how awesome my dog is because, let’s face it, he’s basically the best dog ever.

Apart from blogging, what do you like to do?

Eat copious amounts of ice cream, read trashy novels, sing in the shower, go ga-ga over every single dog I see, play piano, go camping, watch too much tv and spend as much time with my family and my sweetheart as possible.

How do you find time to blog?

I’m a lazy blogger and usually only post 3 – 4 times a week. The hardest part is finding time to take pictures. Usually, by the time I find something that I like, the sun has gone down or my lunch break is over.

What is your greatest accomplishment in life thus far?

Teaching my mom how to use Facebook. Next up: Twitter.

Where do you see yourself in 10-years?

Working at Disneyland as Tinkerbell! Okay, so MAYBE they won’t want a 30-year-old playing a pixie… So, in ten years, I want to own an online clothing store and make and sell my own clothes. I also want to have a no-kill dog ranch where I can take care of as many dogs as possible and help them find permanent homes with families that will love them forever. That’s more like a 25-years answer, though. First I have to wait for my rich Uncle to die and leave me everything.

Do you have children, if so how many?

I have a two-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever named Maxwell Chewbacca. That’s enough for me at the moment.

Anything else you’d like to tell us about?

Don’t do drugs. Also, if you visit and choose to comment, be sure to leave your blog’s URL so I can go check out your blog!
