Diagnosed at 18 months with Leukemia BatKid perservered with courage. His cancer, in June, was said to be in remission. He has fought the most evil villain, Cancer, and won.
Friday, November 15, will be forever known as “Batkid Day”. With good reason. This pint-sized superhero, saved the city of Gotham from the Riddler, rescued a Damsel in Distress from trolley tracks and took on Penguin.
It all started with a trip into the Bay Area to get a new costume–the kind superheroes wear when they do good and save cities small or as big as San Francisco.
From there, the Make-A-Wish Foundation stepped in and with more than 12,000 volunteers, including one dressed as BatKid’s favorite superhero, Batman, there was a day that was in need of BatKid.
When Police Chief Greg Shur asked for help on a live television broadcast, the adventure began!
Of course, being a superhero calls for a quick getaway and for BatKid, the day’s superhero vehicle was the prestigious Lamborghinis, turned into the BatKid Mobile complete with stickers.
He rescued a damsal in distress complete with plastic bomb from San Franciso’s trolley tracks.
He took on the Riddler!
It was a day where one little boy’s courage and fight for live, moved thousands and transformed a city into Gotham, giving Miles Scott the opportunity to show the world what he does best–fight the evil!
