Back to School with Smencils and Smens

Back to School lists everywhere are saturated with “Pens and Pencils,” and thanks to Smencils and Smens, there’s no reason to settle for the ordinary. These writing utensils are eco-friendly and smell good enough to eat!

A lot of love goes into making a Smencil, wrapping recycled pieces of newspaper around #2 graphite, then letting it harden, just like that standard yellow pencil. Then it gets doused in gourmet scents made by an award-winning fragrance company. The Smencil is set to dry and then accessorized with an eraser and sticker that announces its scent. Finally, Smencils are delivered to the consumer in its own corn-based biodegradable Freshness Tube.

Smencils Original and Colored

Smencils Original and Colored

Go ahead, call Smencils the “smart” pencil; after all, there are studies that show peppermint increases brain activity. Looking for a scent beyond peppermint?

Smencils has it covered with ten unique and delicious flavors.

  • Bubble Gum
  • Cinnamon
  • Tropical Blast
  • Grape
  • Cotton Candy
  • Very Berry
  • Black Cherry
  • Orange
  • Watermelon
  • Rootbeer

As an added bonus, Smencils even comes in colored pencils, where the color matches the scent! My kiddos thought this was awesome, and I had to agree!

The Divine Miss M LOVES the Bubble Gum scent, while Li’l Man prefers Rootbeer, but they weren’t committing to just one scent, they loved absolutely every single scent. The bio-degradable tube also keeps the Smencil’s scent for two years. Such deliciousness!

We became acquainted with Smencils in my days as PTA President. It was a great fundraiser that had the students excited. They made perfect gifts for friends, fun classroom rewards and we had many teachers who stood in line for their own Smencil. Fun is not just for kiddos.
