How to Make a Friendship Bracelet Tutorial: Craft Your Own Tokens of Connection

Introduction to Friendship Bracelet Making

Friendship bracelets hold a special place in many hearts—not just as accessories, but as tangible symbols of shared memories and bonds. Whether you’re reliving childhood memories or creating new ones, making friendship bracelets is a delightful craft that brings joy and creativity to both young and old alike.

My kiddos love friendship bracelets. They love to wear them, make them and share them. Here is an easy tutorial on how you can get into the Friendship Bracelet Fun by making your own friendship bracelets

Materials Needed

To embark on your friendship bracelet journey, gather these simple supplies:

  • Ruler
  • Embroidery Floss (2 Colors)
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Make a Friendship Bracelet

Prepare Your Materials Begin by cutting 18″ to 24″ lengths of two different colored embroidery floss. This variety allows for personalizing each bracelet uniquely.

Secure Your Starting Point Tie a tight knot at one end of the floss bundle, leaving about a 1-inch tail. For stability, tape this knot to a table or secure it with a clipboard.

  • Weaving the Bracelet Pass the end of the left-hand strand through the center of its ‘4’ shape, tightening it snugly just below the initial knot. This ensures smooth sliding as you continue.
  • Repeat and Lengthen Repeat the weaving process, alternating strands until your bracelet reaches the desired length.
  • Finishing Touches Secure the bracelet with a sturdy square knot at the end. Create a second knot an inch below to reinforce. Trim any excess floss to match the opposite end.
