I love the sweet tartness that the Granny Smith Apples bring to this dish.

They pair nicely with the Kielbasa’s flavor complementing one another.

Kielbasa may also be referred to as Polish sausages (timeout.com covers 13 different kinds!).

it’s available in grocery stores. The smoked variety is the most common.

It doesn’t matter which kind of Kielbasa you choose for this recipe, it ends in a delicious dish!

Kielbasa Apple Pasta Bake Ingredients:

4 ounces dry penne pasta, cooked and drained

1 tbsp + 1 tsp All-Purpose Flour

1 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 medium Granny Smith Apples, cored and diced

4 ounces turkey kielbasa diced

1 green onion, thinly sliced

Kielbasa Apple Pasta Bake Directions:

Make the Sauce:

Preheat oven to 350-degrees. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, whisk together the milk and flour.

Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.

Remove from heat and add the cheese, salt, and pepper; stir until smooth.

Bake:

In a 13×9 baking dish, combine the pasta, apples, kielbasa and cheese sauce.

Cover with foil and bake, on the center rack, for 20 minutes.

Remove the foil from the pan and bake an additional 15 minutes.

Top with green onions and serve.

ProTip:

Combine the pasta, apples, and kielbasa in a medium mixing bowl and toss before adding to the 13×9 pan for better integration.

Another Tip:

Try playing around with different types of cheeses.  

Cheddar, Swiss, Gruyere, even horseradish cheddar work well paired with the kielbasa and apples in this dish.

Ingredients
