Back to School with Keen Shoes

Li’l Man is by far my most active child. He requires protection unlike any other child I’ve had, and that’s saying something! KEEN is a brand I’ve come to trust when it comes to Li’l Man, they offer a selection of toe-protecting, colorful summer sandals, and now, they’re launching fall fashion that I can get behind!

Over the summer, Li’l Man conjured up a game reminiscent to my childhood worshiping Steve Austin..NOT Stone Cold Steve Austin, I’m talking THE Steve Austin, aka The Six Million Dollar Man! Failing to remember fast enough that not a single part of his pint-sized body was bionic, Li’l Man propelled himself down the steps, twisting his ankle. It still hasn’t healed completely so we need something back to school that doesn’t look like hospital gear but still offers uncompromising ankle support.
KEEN Clayton
KEEN’s Clayton is our solution. It’s an outdoor boot with classic styling. It seems nearly indestructible with waterproof leather, mesh and a synthetic upper. It offers a waterproof, breathable membrane, metal speed hook, and eyelet lacing system, and since Li’l Man can tear up recess, the dual-climate, non-marking rubber outsole with lugs for traction set this shoe apart from others.

Unfortunately, my genetics for not liking shoes has carried over into more than one child, Li’l Man included. I think he intentionally hides his shoes so he doesn’t have to wear them. He put on the KEEN Clayton and immediately told me, “These are SO comfortable, Mom!” I sighed a breath of relief. He wore them outside, climbed rocks, slid down a tree, using his stomach as a break…and came in to report, “these shoes are tough!”
Keen's Clayton

Over the summer, we bought him about seven pairs of shoes. Not because he outgrows shoes that fast, but because he is that hard on shoes. He has destroyed tennis shoes, and ripped sandals, and had to wear his slippers to the store for the last pair of summer wear, where I announced, “destroy these, and you’re stuck at home.”

After a week of climbing, jumping, playing, and running, the KEEN is still holding strong.

KEEN is a great brand that lasts. My husband has several of their items and they are in pristine condition even after much use. The Clayton shoes by KEEN are holding up to the quality we have come to expect. I love that they are comfortable and durable, playing just as hard as our Li’l Man…and keeping up.
