Review: Zippity Doos

Because No One Wants to “Nit Pick”

School is back in session and that means lice is coming to a school near you. Prevent the infestation before it begins with the Zippity Doos Hair Care line.

My heart goes out to anyone who has had to deal with the pesky nits. My grandmother had nightmares and I thought we were going to have to commit her when my cousin came home with it years ago. The very thought of it sent her into a cleaning frenzy that lasted months, long after the nits had been exterminated!

AT our house we have been using a product line that’s like Teflon prevention against lice, Zippity Doos! It is a natural product designed for children. It’s gentle enough to use every day and in doing so you are “shielding” your children from a back-packing louse!

We reviewed the entire line of products and with each use, I’m loving it more and more.

The line starts with a natural shampoo. It promotes a healthy scalp and hair while preventing the infestation of head lice. Normally, my children are little devils when it comes to hair washing. As soon as I let them smell the shampoo, they agreed they would let me wash their hair without argument. It has a spearmint smell that they were loving.

I was really surprised at how quickly and well the shampoo lathered up. I’ve experienced natural shampoos in the past and it took gobs to get suds. With Zippity Doos I used slightly more than a pea-sized amount and we had super suds!

Zippity Doos also is unique in that you don’t have to let it “sit” on the hair for any period of time before rinsing. You just wet hair, add shampoo, rinse.

The second line of defense in your shield against lice is the Zippity Doos Conditioner. It smells just as good as the shampoo! My six-year-old was taking deep “sniffs” and exclaiming, “This stuff smells soooo good.”
This conditioner has a nice texture.

The six year old has super fine hair, so I was concerned the conditioner would weigh it down and leave her hair looking stringy. SO many conditioners do this to her. Her hair looked great and had some va-va-volume!

What do my girls hate more than the hair washing? Getting their hair combed out! We used the Zippity Doos Leave-In Detangler for Children and it was a home-run. It squirts a fine mist over the hair, which leaves hair easily combable and helps prevent lice. Again, they loved the smell and I loved the conversation, rather than shrieks. The tangles we encountered were easily removed with this detangler.

The Zippity Doos Gel is my favorite, but it’s being redesigned. I’m hoping it’s the same awesome hold without the dandruff-looking flakes!

Quite possibly my favorite item in the Zippity Doos line is the Shield Spray. This spray can be used on the hair, but it also can be used on things like hats, backpacks, bedding, pillows, hairbrushes, and toys. No hitch-hiking lice with this stuff! It has a pleasant scent and is easy to use.

The Zippity Doos Hair Care Line is made from natural and organic ingredients and that’s something I believe in. I love my kiddos and don’t want to pollute them with harsh chemicals. The products are gentle enough to use every day and don’t smell like “medicine”. They fit into a daily routine without interruption. Most importantly they help prevent lice invasion in your home.

I received the Zippity Doos Hair Care line in order to facilitate an honest review. The opinions are my own and were in no way influenced by the sponsor. Others’ experiences may vary.
