Fabric is something I can look at all day. Recently, my mother in law and I went to The Festival of Trees. While the trees were breath-taking, I was enchanted by the quilts. I have many that my mother has made, a couple I have made and they are perfect for chilly weather or just for decorating.

The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Quilting Basics Review
I love this book! While sewn before, I found many useful tips through the chapters. I really enjoyed the chapter Using Your Sewing Machine. It has some great hints for machine piecing and quick methods for joining blocks.
The instructions are clear, and plenty of illustrations help throughout the book.
This book is great for anyone just starting or someone more skilled. There are some great patterns, tips, and guidance to make a quilt worthy of future generations.

For thirty years, Laura Ehrlich (Barnegat, N.J.) has taught quilting in craft stores, adult schools, and recreation programs. In addition to creating hundreds of quilts, she also pieced and quilted a section of the AIDS quilt that toured the United States. Her quilts have been exhibited in New York City.
