Seventh Generation Free and Clear Diapers make me feel better about using disposable diapers. I know that doing my part to keep our Earth an amazing planet is important, and I know there are all sorts of chemicals in those other diapers that aren’t good for my sweet Clara. Seventh Generation has improved the disposable diapering experience. Everything you want in a diaper – and nothing you don’t. Bottom-loving, baby-pleasing performance with absolutely no fragrances, latex, petroleum-based lotions or chlorine processing.
I have thought about using cloth diapers: they’re better for the world, they’re better for baby; they’re just better… BUT I know my limitations as a mom. I would have one stinky house and not an ounce of happiness if I were stuck washing diapers every day, all day, so we use disposable. With Seventh Generation Disposable Diapers, I can leave a little of my guilt behind. There is nothing that will harm Clara in this diaper and it doesn’t cause diaper rash. Poor MES had the worst diaper rash if she didn’t have a bath twice a day. We changed her often; even though disposable diapers hold more than a cloth diaper, I don’t think it’s a nice feeling to have a wet bum, so we changed her often, but that diaper rash kept coming back and coming back. With Seventh Generation diapers, I can rest assured that Clara’s sweet bum will be rash-free. While they still use pigments to give their diapers a tan color, they do not use Chlorine to bleach out their materials. I am not sure how this works, but I liken it to being stuck in a chlorinated swimming pool all day – all that chemical can’t be a good thing.
You’ll love the way that the new, adjustable tabs give baby a soft and comfortable fit. We haven’t had any leakage with the free and clear diapers which is always a good thing, especially with the blow-outs so common to new babies. I also think that Seventh Generation diapers might run a little larger than other brands because we have been able to stay in a size 1 a little longer than we have with other babies. Size one fits up to 14 pounds – that’s two pounds more than the other brands! I like that I don’t have *leftovers* when we’re at that *in-between* stage of sizes.
All disposable diapers, including Seventh Generation’s, rely on man-made materials to deliver the high-level performance that parents expect of modern diapers. These materials are mostly petroleum-derived and are not renewable, which adversely impacts the environmental footprint associated with these products. At Seventh Generation, they offer an alternative that is not bleached with chemicals containing chlorine and are working hard to improve the sustainability of their diaper products further.
Unlike the other brands, Seventh Generation does not normally attach a cartoon character to their diapers, which I like. First of all, the cute characters are only there for the mommies; baby is pretty oblivious to what is going around her waist. Secondly, even if Baby were capable of bending down and checking out said cuteness, do I want to begin indoctrinating my precious wee one with all of that cartoon marketing? Nope. For a limited time though and in celebration of their partnership with Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, (only in theatres, 2012), Free & Clear Diapers now feature delightful limited-edition character prints. I think their partnership with Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax is appropriate since they are working toward creating a product suited for protecting our great planet, besides The Lorax and Dr. Seuss make for a mighty cute diaper!
So try them out; see how they work. They work out to about the same price as the premium brands, but keeping our footprint to a minimum? That’s priceless!
