When I was little, there was a book on the bookshelf that whispered my name. It’s yellow cover with a giant, tame lion riding a green tractor, loaded in the back with delicious red apples, was Richard Scarry’s Best Storybook Ever. Even now, the memories return, and I might still agree with the title. Best. Storybook. Ever.
Richard Scarry continues to hold a spot on our bookshelves. I think the magic is less for the kiddos, but I attribute this to my memories. They giggle at the characters and celebrate reading on their own. It’s a beautiful thing.
The opportunity to share Richard Scarry with my children and introduce them to my dear friends, Lowly Worm, Huckle Cakt, Bananas Gorilla, Hilda Hippo and Pig Won’t and Pig Will arrived late last week. Busy Town comes to life with the most adorable playsets!
