May the Fourth Be With You #StarWarsRebelsEvent

The #StarWarsRebelsEvent is the event my children were the most excited for me to attend. From the Hilton Garden Inn, we will all meet in the lobby and then walked one block to the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

I didn’t know what to expect. We rode the elevator to the Restaurant level and wound our way to Preston’s Restaurant. Here we stood in front of etched glass doors and when they opened, it was as if we had been transported to a galaxy far, far away! Through these doors we were met by Storm Troopers.

We were greeted by everyone’s favorite droid, R2D2!

With R2D2 was the droid, Chopper. He offers some versatility to the crew and is an essential member of the Ghost. Fans of Star Wars Droids will love Chopper in the new “Star Wars” animated series. Chopper is his own droid. Unlike other droids who are eager to serve, Chopper, has some sass. On Ghost his role is to keep the starship operable and there are moments that while doing his job, he expresses his dismay.

Chopper is made up of all repurposed parts. There isn’t a new bolt in him!

Perhaps, the star of the show though is Heda, voiced by Vanessa Marshall.

Vanessa Marshall is an amazing woman. She is incredibly energetic and quite the story teller.

Allow me to give you a brief introduction of who Vanessa Marshall is…

It’s most likely her voice you will recognize her for with a slew of credits in animation and video games like Ben 10, Johnny Bravo and What’s New Scooby Doo.

Born to John Marshall, a news reporter, and THE Joan Van Ark, of Knots Landing fame, Vanessa shared that it was wild “growing up with Joan Van Ark as a Mom!”

Vanessa co-founded Marsh-Kish Production, a voice-over production company, with her then husband Andrew Kishino, also a voice actor. A bit of trivia: Both Vanessa Marshall and Joan Van Ark, have appeared as main characters in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

After photos and mingling with Star Wars Storm Troopers, Droids and Vanessa Marshall, we met in the dining area where we  watched a brief presentation by Vanessa Marshall, the voice of “Hera” in STAR WARS REBELS!

The presentation will included a sneak peek of the extended STAR WARS REBELS trailer and character videos.

The Question and Answer session with Vanessa Marshall was incredible. I’ll share more of it in later weeks.
