Summer always reminds me of moments from my childhood. This summer we have been experiencing How To Be The Best Bubble Writer In The World Ever (Laurence King Publishing). This fun book by Linda Scott was eagerly awaited after my daughter saw the trailer. When it arrived, it has captured her heart and hours have been spent perfecting her quest to be the best Bubble Writer in the World.

I can’t say I blame her. I remember being a kid, when snail mail from a friend was anticipated. The letters back and forth were words written in wacky and foo-foo ways.  I envied the cheerleaders who made the posters for school assemblies and pep rallies. They seemed to have the BEST writing.
The Divine Miss M takes great pride in her penmanship and Linda Scott’s book, How to be the Best Bubble Writer in the World EVER encourages her more and allows her to be creative in her writing. This morning she left me this note. It is a combination of many of the styles found in the book.

The book is  a fun way to learn lettering with a lot of perks like tags, writing areas and entire alphabets done in the lettering. The book is set up with easier lettering first and works up to more complex, unique, and impressive styles. There are forty styles and some are very original like the Yeti. My son’s favorite is the Caveman.  The Divine Miss M LOVEs the Hairy Monster lettering.
Hairy Monster Lettering
Every day, The Divine Miss M can be found with this book. It truly is about being creative and having fun…there are no rules. She is practicing for when school starts when she can give out the lettering envelope cards, create holiday cards for her class and design one-of-a-kind door hangers. The possibilities are endless.
How to be the Best Bubble Writer in the World Ever is truly a wonderful book that has kept all of my children entertained. I have to admit I’ve even dabbled in it when everyone has gone to bed. It’s just irresistible fun!
