Call Me Maybe Intervention

It was a typical Saturday.

I was cleaning, the kiddos were crafting and going in and outside.

Then, my two girls presented me with this:

call me maybe

Call Me Maybe

They think I have a problem. It’s their way of saying, “Mom, you need an intervention!”.

My 23 year old son even taunts me. He lives two hours from me and when I see him and he’s leaving I say, “Call me maybe” and he sings, “Hey! I just met you and this is crazy!” I love it but now I wonder if he isn’t in on the girls’ intervention!

Go ahead, I triple dog dare you to listen to Call Me Maybe and not be singing it All. The. Time!

It’s what lead me to this:

Call Me Maybe Intervention

The Divine Miss M and The Beauty Queen have had enough!

About the Song, Call Me Maybe:

“Call Me Maybe” is a catchy pop song that gained massive popularity worldwide and became a cultural phenomenon. It was released by Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen on September 20, 2011. The track was written by Carly Rae Jepsen, Tavish Crowe, and Josh Ramsay, with Ramsay also handling the production.

The song’s lyrics revolve around a young woman who is attracted to a guy she meets, and she’s hoping he would give her a chance by calling her. The lyrics capture the excitement and uncertainty of a new romantic interest, and its relatable theme struck a chord with listeners of all ages.

Shortly after its release, “Call Me Maybe” went viral on the internet, thanks to a music video featuring Carly Rae Jepsen and a cameo appearance by Justin Bieber and his friends. The video showcased a playful and fun atmosphere, which resonated with fans and contributed to the song’s immense success.

The song’s infectious melody and memorable chorus quickly propelled it to the top of music charts in numerous countries. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, staying there for nine weeks, and topped charts in many other countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and many European nations.

“Call Me Maybe” received widespread critical acclaim for its catchy tune and infectious lyrics, and it became one of the best-selling digital singles of all time. It also earned Carly Rae Jepsen two Grammy Award nominations in 2013 for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

The song’s success helped Carly Rae Jepsen gain international recognition and established her as a prominent pop artist. Even though she had released music before “Call Me Maybe,” it was this song that truly launched her career into the mainstream.

Despite being released in 2011, “Call Me Maybe” continued to have a lasting impact and remained popular for years, becoming an iconic pop anthem of the early 2010s. It was frequently covered and parodied by various artists and internet personalities, further solidifying its place in pop culture history.
