I received All My Treasures A Book of Joy by Joe Witek in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
Oh, how I love the book by the name of All My Treasures. It truly is, as it says, a book of joy.
Right from the first page, when Grandma gives the little girl a beautiful porcelain box, I could relate. I saw this happen when Miss M received a porcelain box from her grandma. It was a special moment.
Page after page it was as it played out in my own house, searching for the perfect treasures to keep inside. The little girl in All My Treasures is a little more original and creative in finding things for her porcelain box and that makes the story so sweet. She wants to put rain in her box because it makes her happy!
I love, love, love this book and know you will too.
The illustrations are simple and yet fun. They remind me of refrigerator art from tiny hands. There are fold down sections that reveal hidden pictures–even my ten year old snuggled next to me so he could see what was to be revealed!
All My Treasures: A Book of Joy Synopsis:
When a girl receives a beautiful porcelain box from her grandmother, she immediately wants something special to put inside it. But what could it be? What does she love best? She loves jumping in puddles on rainy days, blowing bubbles in the park, and watching her little sister’s first steps. As it turns out, life’s most precious treasures cannot be contained in a box! With a gentle message about the immateriality of happiness, this story reminds us to take pleasure in everyday moments. The book is beautifully packaged with a sparkly die-cut star on the cover, and flaps throughout reveal hidden surprises.
