I never want another child of mine to experience that pain. I strive to find activities that promote physical fitness, so when I came across “The Activators,” I was excited! I was eager for my children to investigate the website.
The Activators are a stand-alone entertainment brand composed of four talented My Gym Children’s Fitness Center teachers who sing and dance to original music and using comedy and exercise routines designed to get kids “activated” by conveying that fitness is fun.
The Activators are headed out for a tour across cities nationwide and will appear on television. Even better, The Activators have a fun and interactive website loaded with children’s exercise videos, coloring pages with step-by-step instructions on how to do “exer-sillies” and more!
My kiddos can be tough critics. They have a mind of their own. As I was viewing “The Activators website,” my curious four-year-old wanted to make sure he wasn’t missing out on anything. As I started the “Activators Tale Part I” Storytime video, he called for his sister to “come to check this out.” As the story was acted out, he and his sister began making up movements to accompany the story.
Then we watched “The Excer-sillies.” This video has silly dance moves with names that were fun for my kiddos, “Bawk, Bawk Chicken” and “Dizzy Tizzy.”
Another great part of this website and program is The Activators are on a mission to get 1 million kiddos to sign up and take The Activators Pledge to stay active and fit. The pledge is a fun rhyme that commits a child to try new things, jump, tumble, and climb and do all the active things a child should do.
When we were done on The Activators website, I wondered if my clever kiddos had caught on.
The next morning we went to the bus stop, as we do every weekday morning. Typically, this is a time of complaining because they have to wait for the bus. This morning was different.
This morning as we came down the hill, I heard the sound of Little People “powering up”. Then there was a shout out of “Activate Activators!” and they were off…zipping down the sidewalk, racing up the hill, roaring around the house. They were on the move!
When the bus arrived, it was back to routine, but as the bus door closed, my four year old hollered, “C’mon, Mom! We gotta beat the bus!” and we were off running as fast as our feet would carry us to beat the bus to the top of the hill! It was a great morning!
The Activators have a new CD out. This all-new CD features the music of Aaron Nigel Smith and The Activators! Kids will be up and moving to the mix of all-time favorites and original music. It also features great Activator stories. It retails for $10.00 and is available through My-Gym
You can stay “active” with “The Activators” through their website, becoming a fan on Facebook or following on twitter.
