SWEETEST CHARMS FEATURE AND GIVEAWAY!!!
At seven and six, my daughters consider themselves “authentic Princesses” and have mastered the art of accessorizing. They really, really L-O-V-E bracelets. We discovered Sweetest Charms recently and the selection and detail is simply amazing.
After running an on-line site for awhile, she opened her Around the World Etsy Shop. ‘I was looking for unique items to sell for the jewelry department under Simply Lin, but when we usually go shopping for beads all of them are the same, so I decided to look for unique beads and create unique beads and sell them instead for jewelry artist who would love to provide us with unique custom accessories.’
Lin’s charms are unique, fun and packed with detail. I was awe-struck when she told me her talent “… just came up. When I see something that I want to create, I just look at it and somehow I’m able to create something. I guess that’s why talent is a gift. It just comes out of nowhere. And since this gift is a tool, it needs sharpening and enhancing. So I read a lot of crafting books and watch videos that would continuously aid me to learn and enhance my crafting skills. ”
Unlike other suppliers, Lin, creates hers individually. Something she feels makes her product stand far apart from others. “Well for my Sweetest Charms Shop, most kawaii suppliers use a mold to produce their items and it is similar to other items as well. But mine are really crafted without the use of any mold. I can certainly say that my items are one of a kind. Although I provide kawaii items, there is still a touch of elegance in these charms. Same thing with my Simply Lin shop. I provide unique Kawaii accessory with a touch of vintage and elegance to it. So it is dedicated not only to the kiddy market, but to all. ”
With so many creations to choose from, Lin says her most favorite creation is the “Fantasy Collection Brooches.”
When Lin is creating she is inspired by “Music. I get inspired by listening to soothing music and Korean and Japanese music. There’s something in there that captures my heart in which inspiration starts overflowing again and again. I also get inspired by nature. God is an amazing designer. ”
“I’m not sure if I speak for all crafters out there but I guess, it takes me a while to create. 40 to 50 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to create. Everything must be organized and clean first in my mind so that we can design something great. I don’t draw on paper. Perhaps a scratch paper would do. I never did enjoy doing that. When I design or create a piece, everything is just in my head. Every corner or angle of the design I can picture in my mind. ”
When Lin isn’t creating charms, she loves to “I like to write, watch movies and learn learn learn. ”
One of the crafts Lin is ready to learn, learn, learn is sewing. No doubt, with her passion for creating she’ll have mastered sewing in no time!
Lin says her greatest accomplishment so far is “Being able to operate Sweetest Charms and Simply Lin online in the Philippines and compete with other crafters across the globe. It’s such a hard thing to get recognized when you live in a small country. And it’s also hard to operate an online business internationally.”
Don’t let the name fool you, Lin has B-I-G plans. ten years from now, she sees herself as ” Martha Stewart of the Philippines? Lol. I’d still be crafting after 10 years and hopefully, my business is full grown and I can help more people find their talents and help them open up online stores as well. ”
Her customer’s feedback extends beyond the pictures of the pretty charms:
“Holy Mackerel! What a treat, all these charms are so cute and are made so well. Postage was speedy too! These Charms are quite sturdy and look beautiful, don’t even stop to think twice about getting any of these”
“Sooo wonderful, my daughter tried to eat it. Thank goodness I had a spare…”
