Gymboree has to be our favorite brand of children’s clothing. My girls and i’l Man have been wearing Gymboree for ten years. It’s one of the highest quality brands that I’ve found, as a mother. It’s the ONLY brand my children can’t wear out, and THAT says a LOT!
The Divine Miss M is especially fond of Gymboree. In fact, if you ask her she will tell you, “I am famous for my clothes”. The first time I heard her say it, I laughed out loud. No. Really. Then I met with her teacher for a parent’s night and the first thing her teacher told me is, “MacKenzie is always so fashionable. I don’t think I’ve seen her in the same outfit twice. She just beams with confidence in every outfit.””
This is one of the reasons I love Gymboree, every line has a lot of options so you can mix and match and shake things up. Tops and bottoms, shoes and accessories that make it YOUR style.
So? When we had the opportunity to do a review of Gymboree, no one was MORE excited than MISS M! We hit the mall and were ready for some shopping!
Inside the store we focused on the NEW for SPRING Preppy Peach line. We loaded up our arms and headed for the dressing room.
Hands down the Chambray & Bows was Miss M’s favorite in the Preppy Peach line. It is her style with sweet tipped grosgrain ribbon belt, shirred skirt and cross-back straps. The dress is finished with bright two-tone buttons down the front and on the pocket flaps. The hemline extends to the knee.
We added the Bow Seersucker Jacket to her look for a finished style. Miss M loves the bright color and the feel of seersucker. It features bows on the cuffs and back for just a little expression of sweet! It is finished with the two-tone button and mock pocket flaps and this mom loves that it’s machine washable!
Miss M’s second favorite in the Preppy Peach line was the Peachy Keen top. It shouts sunshine! It’s über comfortable in poplin with an all-over peach print. Southern Belle comes to life with the fun and flirty ruffles and detailed with a tipped grosgrain ribbon bow at the waist. The offers a shirred hem and smocking on the open back for a comfortable fit. We paired this top with the ribbon belted scalloped jean shorts.
I loved the Pretty in Plaid. The tee-shirt has an appliqued peach all glammed up with lots of sparkle from gems and embroidery. It offers cap sleeves and the back is cuteness overload with a tipped grosgrain bow!
We complimented the tee with a sweet scalloped skort in bright plaid is just right for Miss M’s sunny style. Comfy poplin design is finished with tipped grosgrain bows on the hem plus back pockets. It is summer fun for certain!
Tied with favorite with the Chambray & Bows was the Summer Peach. This poplin romper is a bright all-over peach print with contrast cross-back straps and trim at the neck. It offers a detachable belt and smocking on the back for comfortable fit. It has on seam pockets. We also tried this romper paired with the Bow Seersucker Jacket.
While Miss M tried to decide, Li’l Man took to the dressing room.
He was crazy about the Summer Wheels Collection so he started with the Motorcycle Ringer Tee. It immediately got “thumbs up” for comfort with the inside neck trim and soft 100 percent cotton. This tee has an intricate motorcycle stitched design and contrast ringer neck making this a style that works!
He paired this tee with the Motorcycle Plaid Patchwork Shorts. They are colorful! Made of cotton poplin and diamond dobby woven these shorts feature an authentic patchwork design in preppy plaid and motorcycle print. Comfy pull-on style includes front pockets, back welt pockets and a button accent at the waist.
The shorts also look great with the Motorcycle Pique Polo Shirt!
Then came the Wave Rider Collection. It was deemed, “The MOST AMAZING Clothes EVER!” by my seven-year old.
This collection had everything. The Surfer Raglan Tee is casual and surf sytle! It is a very soft jersey and features a surfer applique with bright contrast stitching with bonus screen-printed waves.
The sturdy cotton ripstop cargo pant was fascinating for Li’l Man. He loved how they were versatile gong from long to short with just a few cuffs. They pull on and feature a twill tape draw-string and what li’l man doesn’t love front, back and touch-close pockets!
Add a snap pocket plaid shirt and he was sold! The soft woven cotton poplin design features pearlized snaps on the pockets for a cool Western look.
He was done.
Then his sister came and said she couldn’t make up her mind and wanted the Chambray & Bows AND the Bow Seersucker Jacket. It was more than her half of the budget!
That’s when an amazing thing happened. My Li’l Guy, who was absolutely ecstatic about the Wave Rider Collection, said, “It’s okay, Mom. I’ll keep looking and find something I like just as much so Miss M can have her whole outfit.”
It melted my heart.
He discovered a Beach Scene Striped Tee that he really liked. It is vintage-inspired style with pieced chest stripes on a classic colorblock design. Palm tree and surf station wagon embroidery adds authentic detail and fun texture.
He also tried on the Ultimate Surfer Collection. Surf More, Sleep Less! This layered look tee says it all with bold jersey appliqués on a soft and comfy cotton design. Palm tree outlines in chunky embroidery add cool texture and island style.
He loved the tee with the Leafwork Plaid Shorts. They are preppy woven cotton short with a modern spin f an authentic patchwork design of tropical leaf print and madras plaid. Classic details include a zip fly with slider closure, front pockets, back welt pockets and belt loops.
For fun we added the Hooded Windbreaker Jacket. It is the perfect weight for light spring weather. It’s also water-resistant and has snap pockets and a soft jersey lining.
The new Gymboree Spring Collections are crazy fun with so many options. It was a difficult choice for the kiddos. In the end Miss M picked the Chambray & Bows with the Bow Seersucker Jacket and Li’l Man chose the Beach Scene Striped Tee. We picked up some matching underwear and received 25 Gymbuck’s to use starting April 11, when we’ll add to Li’l Man’s shirt.
