2013 is my year. I’m working on me. One area that I have let go and admitted defeat with has been my weight. In 2011, life was moving too quickly from September to December. I was caring for everyone but myself. I quickly packed on forty pounds. I was already over-weight and the forty pounds just crushed me.
I’ve lost 17 pounds so far this year and I’m motivated!
It’s only been the past few years that my weight has bothered me. Before then, I was chubby, but I was confident and I didn’t wear it as my identity. As the weight has increased, my feelings of frumpy have consumed me.
I was attending an exercise regularly. It was through my church. They said I couldn’t bring my children, whom are well-behaved, and childcare plus the cost of the class is too much, so I’m on my own.
For me, I want to look like the person I see in the mirror. I’m always surprised when I see a picture of myself because the picture portrays the frumpy me. The me I choose not to see when I see my reflection.
I’m learning healthier coping skills than shoving food in my mouth. I still have a long way to go both in my coping and in my exercise.
I’m joining 89 bloggers for the Shaklee 180 Challenge. I’m ready to commit to six months of making choices that are, for perhaps the first time in my life, about ME. I’m taking responsibility for me. I’m stepping up and taking control of my health.

I still struggle with 10,000 steps a day, but I am going to keep moving..keep striving for that goal DAILY. I’m going to be accountable to myself, first and foremost.
