I received a RockJam Electronic Keyboard Super Kit in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
When I was very small I took piano lessons. I couldn’t read the music, so I would memorize what the teacher told me to do.
Then we moved.
My parents enrolled me in a piano class that had many students. We practiced on plastic keys that did nothing.
Obviously, that wasn’t a great option, so my parents found a piano teacher that came to the house for my sister and me.
Her name was Mrs. Mack.
She was Russian.
She had flame red hair, wore bright red lipstick, had a fur coat and wore this black fur hat.
Mrs. Mack was very strict.
If I were to add it all up, I probably had a good six to seven years of piano lessons.
We owned a piano.
I hang my head in shame because, what I am about to tell you is, my parents did not get a good return in their investment.
That falls on my shoulders.
I should, however, get credit for the fact that in fifth grade, we were learning about the Civil War. There was a contest where you got so many points for doing different tasks: reports, presentations, etc. It was neck and neck between me and a boy named Mike.
I am competitive.
My team was the South, and so I learned to play “Dixieland” on the piano.
Scored us big points.
I can still play that song from memory.
It is the ONLY song I can play.
I tell you this because I have children.
Children who want to learn to play the piano.
Unfortunately, I know that these children have 50-percent of my genetics.
We also live in a very small place. Very small.
So when RockJam offered an electronic keyboard for review, I said, “Okay.”
When it arrived, Miss M insisted we set it up right away.
My husband’s brows furrowed as he shot me the stink eye. I could hear the whining, “It’s going to take effort.”
Out of the box came the keyboard.
Five minutes later we had this.
RockJam Electronic Keyboard SuperKit included everything we needed to get the kiddos started on learning to play!
An electronic keyboard with 61 FULL size keys.
And Mom and Dad…it comes with HEADPHONES! For you…but better for the kiddos who are playing the keyboard!
You also get 30 free piano Maestro songs! Piano Maestro is an iPad/iPhone app that helps students practice and learn their sight reading, rhythm, technique and playing with both hands and so much more! To activate this app with your RockJam, download Piano Maestro on your iPad and register as a new user.
Then, go to “Settings”.
“Select Your Piano” and choose RockJam from the drop-down menu.
The free songs will be available at the Library!
It has an amazing LCD screen and can record and playback, 100 keyboard sounds, 100 rhythms, and 50 demo songs
The LCD screen on the keyboard is clear.
The screen gives instructions for beginners by telling them which keys to press or chords to play all while playing demo songs. It’s like having a private piano teacher…who is a lot nicer than Mrs. Mack!
If you are feeling the music, this RockJam Electronic Keyboard comes preloaded with sound options including 50 Demo songs, 100 rhythms and sounds. It can all be heard through built-in speakers–or remember, it comes with headphones!
It’s an incredible value at just $120!
You can plug the keyboard into an outlet, or it operates with 6 D batteries–perfect for starting a band, or traveling to Grandma’s so she can see and your child play with her own ears!
We are loving RockJam and I’m sure your family will love it too!
