My children haven’t lived close to grandparents, so getting to see them is always a spectacular moment. Over the weekend, the kiddos and I headed north to Pennsylvania where we spent time with their paternal grandparents. The Divine Miss M and her grandma are so similar. They act alike and even look-alike. It’s an incredible testimony of DNA!
Grandma and Miss M also share a love for all things “girly”. When the girls were little, we went to the Uintas and stayed in a cabin as a family. The adults made fun of grandma for bringing all her make-up, but The Beauty Queen and Miss M loved the one-on-one time with Grandma!
The girls are bigger now but Grandma/Grand-daughter time is still precious. As soon as we arrived, Miss M had her box of Piggy Paint natural nail polish ready to share with Grandma! The cooed over the fun colors.
While deciding on colors, they talked about the weather, school and everything in between. They even compared hands and fingers.
Grandma picked Forever Fancy
Miss M went right to work, taking care to cover the entire nail with fabulous color!
Then Miss M picked her colors and decided she was going WiLd with Jazz It Up AND Ice Cream Dream.
There were giggles and grins and Grandma alternated fingernails with the two colors.
We received a tip that to make sure maximum dryness and chip resistance, use a hair dryer to dry polish for one minute with warm heat/low setting (add some fun and sing two rounds of the ABC’s), but in the end, they flapped their hands and resorted to good old blowing!
The even let me join in, but Miss M chose my color nail polish, choosing Mac-n-Cheese Please
It was a great afternoon of Grandma and Grand-daughter, with a moment with mom. We tried to think of our own names for the nail polish and giggled at the suggestions. Mostly, it was just a lazy afternoon in the company of beautiful ladies.
