I just heard about Missy Higgins a week or so ago.
Now I am intrigued by her.
Her lyrics are simple (very simple) and yet they seem to express life–its trials, relationships, and events.
My favorite song on her new album, “On a Clear Night” is “Peachy”.
It just appeals to me.
Her voice is sultry.
It warms my soul and makes me want to listen.
I find myself humming along now and just relaxing.
I hadn’t heard of Missy Higgins until about a week ago.
Now, she is all that I play while driving or just relaxing.
Her “On A Clear Night” is an amazing tribute to her voice.
The CD was recorded in Los Angeles with famed producer Mitchell Froom, who has worked with such legendary artists as Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, and Crowded House.
Neil Finn of “Crowded House” plays guitar on “Peachy” and provides backup vocals on Ms. Higgins’s song, “Going North”.
“Peachy” is upbeat and will have you movin’.
I love the sarcastic lyrics.
Her voice is strong and I find myself belting out the “of course you don’ts” right along with Ms. Higgins.
“Warm Whispers” is soft and nearly haunting.
The sound of this song is calm and feels as if you are being told a grand secret and seems to capture time in a bottle.
Missy Higgins has a unique voice that I have yet to grow tired of.
“Where I Stood”.
It is my favorite song on the album.
I can relate to its lyrics.
Her voice is romantic, strong and sultry.
This is a must-have album!
P.S. Missy is a celebrity who actually lives the life of being “Green”.
She also rides a bike rather than drive a car whenever possible.
I would recommend this artist and her music to anyone.
