Fat Tuesday is approaching, and to kick off the celebration, Community Coffee has launched its seasonal Mardi Gras King Cake Coffee.
In full disclosure, I’ve only been to Mardi Gras, the greatest free show on earth, on my bucket list. I am, however, a HUGE coffee fan. One of my favorite brands is Community Coffee.
I took my box of 12 K-Cups I received for review, to work. It was a drizzling and dark Friday.
I flipped the lights on, said “Good Morning” to Office Cat Jinx and turned on the Keurig.
I wiped down the desks with Lysol wipes, fed Jinx and worked my way back to the Keurig.
With a yawn, I placed a Community Coffee K-Cup in the slot, hit the “caffeine me” now button and listened as the water flowed in a steady stream into my Ninja Cup.
I am not sure what I was expecting.
I usually take my Cup of Joe black. I stayed true to myself.
The room smelled amazing.
I held the cup up to my lips, and the hints of vanilla and cinnamon swirled my nostrils. I took a gulp of the hot coffee–it was a sweeter more dessert taste. Oh. My. It is good stuff.
I love flavored coffee far more than regular–not that I’d pass up a cup of regular, but I know what I like. The flavor of the Community Coffee Mardi Gras King Cake coffee isn’t bold or outrageous (like I imagine Mardi Gras in New Orleans), but the flavor is noticeable. There was no guessing about it.
By Noon, I had switched to a larger coffee cup and made it a celebration.
In 1919, the year my grandfather was born, Henry Norman Saurge discovered the secret to making coffee and honored his community of friends by naming his brand, Community Coffee.
It’s good coffee, and you can “enjoy the convenience of fresh coffee delivered right to your door.” Check out their Community Coffee Club for more details.
Community Coffee Mardi Gras King Cake Coffee is seasonal. This means, stock up because it isn’t available year round! Of course, when I run out, there’s always French Roast.
Give the Mardi Gras King Cake Coffee a taste. The hint of vanilla and cinnamon make it an absolute treat. It’s expertly crafted for the perfect balance of flavor. It might be the closest you get to Mardi Gras.
King Cake and Mardi Gras go hand in hand. Community Coffee makes it possible for us all to have our cake and drink it too.
If you aren’t familiar with King Cake, it continues the celebration of the Fest of the Epiphany. It’s a special cake to honor the Three Kings. A bean or a coin is hidden inside of the cake for a good fortune to the finder. The tradition has changed a bit since coming from Europe; King Cake has a plastic baby inside. Whoever gets the baby buys the next cake. King Cake is a weekly tradition from January 6th until the beginning of Lent. If you get the plastic baby in your piece of King Cake on Mardi Gras, you buy the first King Cake next year on January 6th.
We all know pairing coffee with dessert is a must.
Pair the “King” of all flavored coffees, Community© Mardi Gras King Cake coffee with your Mardi Gras parties, or just drink it to bring a little more joy. The only thing missing is the plastic baby!
