Larabar Bites take on the season of chocolate truffles with their take on the holiday treat! Known for their fruit and nut bars, Larabar Bites are gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, dairy-free, and kosher.
They also come in four fantastic flavors: Mint Chocolate Truffle, Chocolate Macaroon, Cherry Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Brownie.
I’m an anything-chocolate-kinda-girl. I tried the Larabar Chocolate Macaroons first.
I love the texture of the Larabar Bite over the homemade truffles. They are moist and chewy. The dates offer a sweetness that mutates to a hint of tartness. There is texture from the bits of almonds and chocolate chips. They aren’t very sweet, but they are sweet enough to be indulgent.
I love the Mint Chocolate Chip Larabar Bites.
I cut one open so that you can see the bits of chocolate chips and almonds.
My husband thinks the Larabar Bites all taste very similar. I’m not sure what he was expecting since they all start with the same foundation of ingredients, and then new flavors are introduced to create each variety. I still think they are great.
Cherry Chocolate Chip – These are tart, and I think have the most texture of the four flavors. I believe the cherry is the front-runner in flavor here, with a subtle chocolate after-taste.
Chocolate Macaroon – These are excellent. The date flavor comes through on this one.
Double Chocolate Brownie – These are my least favor–they are still good. I was hoping they would be more chocolate. They are chewy like a brownie should be.
Mint Chocolate Truffle – These are my favorite. They taste the most like chocolate to me, and the hint of mint is a nice touch.
I love these as an evening snack.
They are perfect for the holidays, so you don’t feel like you are missing out but still taste like an indulgence.
Larabar Bites have a suggested retail price of $5.00 and come in a 5.3-ounce resealable pouch.
