I received Kids Cook French in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
Miss M dreams of France. She loves the culinary world, though her experience is still more simple than technical in the kitchen. She has enjoyed the combination of her two favorite things in Claudine Pepin’s new cookbook, Kids Cook French. Claudine is the daughter of world-renown chef, Jacques Pepin.
This cookbook is interactive and fun. It is introducing Miss M to the art and joy of cooking. It’s not complex like a Julia Child’s book, but enough to get her interested in preparing and making her own meal. She is learning about better eating habits and even about the importance of culture.
We all know there are some very technical French recipes, but Kids Cook French features classic, simple dishes inspired by French cuisine, each recipe is shown in both French and English and accompanied by fun illustrations.
It’s French so there is an emphasis on fresh ingredients and hands-on preparation, dishes include traditional starters, main courses, and desserts.
- Deviled Eggs Jeannette
- Cheese Fondue
- Boeuf Bourguignon
- Gratin Dauphinois
- Creme Brulee
This is a great cookbook to spark creativity and teach cooking basics to anyone. It’s a great addition to our cookbook collection.
